Hi.

I have my brothers wedding in August, my brother and his fiance are quite trendy and I want a dress thats a bit different.
I've found these four in the sale and thought I might see what they look like on.

What do you think?
Any suggestions?

The weddings at a small hotel in the Yorkshire dales.

One of the bridesmaid has a just below the knee and one just above the knee dress but they're 14 and 15 and gorgeous.

I'm slim but I have love handles which I feel makes my bum look square

letthemeatcake - lovely dresses but not sure about lime green on fair skinned blonde

suwoo · 09/04/2009 22:28

Ooh that last one is gorgeous LTEC and looks really expensive.

LetThemEatCake · 09/04/2009 22:28

re the monsoon dress: shiny fabric + one shoulder = NO

but great colour

mrsruffallo · 09/04/2009 22:29

How about this?

sazzlelou · 09/04/2009 22:30

Letthemeatcake - I like the first two but not sure if too pale.

The coast too are a bit too hugging, probably look nice but scare me
I like the third one a lot, might have to go try it on

Thanks for all the suggestions, keep them coming

another coast one

sazzlelou · 09/04/2009 22:33

LTEC - thats what i thought, i like the colour but it is v shiney

mrsruffallo - I like the pattern, not sure what i look like in prom style.

I'm going to have to invest in some properly fitted scaffolding strapless bra

suwoo · 09/04/2009 22:33

LTEC's navy one is a definite winner.

PullMyFinger · 09/04/2009 22:34

That third one is yummy, perfect.

Go try and let us know

sazzlelou · 09/04/2009 22:34

Oooh i like that, and it has detachable straps

sazzlelou · 09/04/2009 22:37

Keep looking at the navy one, I really like it.
I'm going to go shopping tomorrow and try it on, hopefully the Monsoon nearby has it in stock or I may have to travel further afield

I rather like this, it could look quite fabulous in a retro kind of way

as could this - in fact either of these with bright yellow heels would look tres cool

sazzlelou · 09/04/2009 22:38

Coast even

There are some lovely ones here, sazzle
oasis

sazzlelou · 09/04/2009 22:40

Quite like the first one, second one is too high neck, my boobs look ginormous

I love the ideas though, you really are the style queen

sazzlelou · 09/04/2009 22:42

Ooooh, I'm definately going shopping tomorrow, thank god dp is working.

Might have to brave Meadowhell on good friday though.

if you are 23 and have a great figure then hugging is GOOD

please show off your figure while you still have it [ kristina remembers those days fondly]

i think for small hotel in yorkshire you want elegant ( for a 23yo) and not to tacky. so you might get away with shiny as long as its not too short and off the shoulder

and short is fine but not with too much flesh up top IYSWIM

and strapless is ok as long as its not short or shiny and your boobs are not escaping from teh top

sazzlelou · 09/04/2009 22:43

nancy 75 - thanks, i'll add them to the list

sazzlelou · 09/04/2009 22:46

KristinaM - thanks
i'm going to hunt for a dress that ticks the boxes.
seems i need to keep away from shiny and skimpy

French Connection have some gorgeous dresses within your budget. I love the Flying high dress in blue. Team it with a little shrug and heels

SandyChick · 10/04/2009 12:15

This is nice too

Have a look at Mango too

modernart · 10/04/2009 19:58

sazzlelou I like the dresses you have picked out best, especially for a 23 year old. Please you guys don't put her in coast/debenhams/monsoon, she's got years ahead of her for boring dresses.

ja9 · 10/04/2009 20:09

sazzlelou - this is quite like the first net porter dress you linked to
