foundation for blotchy skin

my skin is quite blotchy at the moment, gets like it when tired, hormonal or stressed. my normal no7 foundation doesnt really cover it, used a slightly darker one and it doesnt look right. can anyone suggest a good foundation for pale and blotchy skin that doesnt cost the earth?

I use Elizabeth Arden foundation, its quite thick and gives really good coverage, i also have blotchy skin and have found this to be the best ive tried. Cant rmemeber exact name but comes in a rectangular black compact with sponge and mirror, is more like a thick cream, comes in diff shades. approx £12 in Debenhams. HTH

I use the mineral foundation (very MN I believe) from barefacedbeauty.com. I think the coverage is excellent - really evens out my blotchy skin tone! The little sample pots are £2 each, they do a sample kit for £14 where you get a mini-brush and several sample colours of your choice to try out, and the standard pots of foundation are £12.

I have skin that is uneven and prone to monthly spots.I've tried most foundations cheap and expensive including no. 7 and find this Elizabeth Arden the best one for me.Some that cover are just too matt and ageing. The Elizabeth Arden is certainly not cheap but I use my points off my card to buy it at Boots.

I would go to each of the counters at somewhere like Boots and ask them for samples to take away and try.I did this recently to try the Chanel one recommended on other threads but it didn't suit my skin.
I didn't find mineral foundation (tried the no 7 one) gave me good enough coverage. Secret camouflage is my other tip which again isn't cheap but lasts ages and works better than anything else I have tried.

Just suggesting you get your face checked out by a dr. I have blotchy skin and assumed it was just bad luck and struggled to find good foundations and I eventually went to a dr and am currently on medication for a few months to get it under control. Wish I went sooner.
