Beauty on a budget...tips/hints/good buys???

I already have pretty cheap make-up (Boots No.7 is a treat for me! I have their blusher stick and under eye stuff, Rimmel concealer and mascara - both fab, Simple moisturiser, etc.)

BUT my Simple moisuriser just ran out and we are so hard-up at the mo...

Any good moisturiser tips? Is Nivea in a blue tub (cheap!) any good? Olay? Avon? That stuff from Tesco - Barbara Daly?

Any tips generally on budget make-up gratefully received.

A good one - byt the way - is put old mascara in a glass of hot water a min before you need it and it all softens up again and goes a lot further!

Thanks in advance...

I wanted all new make-up and had no money so I became an avon rep. I don't have huge numbers of customers, just canvas a couple of local roads and take the books into school and I make enough to keep me in make up.

I really like their magix face perfector, put on before/instead of foundation and brightens up your face. Moisturisers are nice, lots to choose from. I also love their Lacoix perfume.

The only expensive thing I swear by in YSL touche eclait. Sleep in a stick, quite pricy but lasts ages.

I use a nivea one in a white tub (sorry don't know what its called) i find the blue one too thick for my skin!!

A friend became a virgin vie rep because she couldn't afford "decent" make up

I use a touche eclait type thing but by virgin vie called midas - they stopped doing as far as i know though it was only £% too!!

£5 sorry not £%!

Mineral powder make up seems to last me ages. I think I pay about £4 for it. It is like a foundation and powder in one and you just layer it lightly till you get the right amount.

I also swear by Touche Eclat, that is my one treat but again it lasts ages.

For face packs, I use 4 aspirin dissolved into a teaspoon or two of milk. Once it goes creamy you rub it on in circles, let it dry about 15 mins then use warm water to rub it off in circles. The aspirin is saliycilic acid which is the expensive BHA acid you see in facial products and the milk is lactic acid (AHA), another expensive ingredient. Both acids have the effect of gently getting off all the dry skin to reveal lovely fresh skin. Try it, your face will feel like a baby's bum I promise!

A good site for DIY skincare recipes is HERE I've tried loads of the stuff on here and it's really good if you're into making your own stuff at home

Aldi pressed powder (Lacura) is v good. In a clasy looking compact with a mirror. The surounding packaging looks rubbish....but you open that and throw it away so it doesn't matter.

Try having a look at this to - I got it from a thread on here:

ELF make-up is very cheap.

Boots No 7 version of Touche eclait is better I reckon, and half the price.

Wouldn't advise Aldi undereye concealer - it makes me look like David Walliams "I'm a ladee"!

The Nivea in the white tub is called Nivea Soft. My DH uses it and I help myself when I run out of my own moisturiser. Tis very nice and not as greasy as the stuff in the blue tub.

Superdrug vitamin e oil. Put it on at night and wake up with glowing skin.
