Eye creams/gels, are they any good?

Has anybody used one that they would recommend?
I've only ever tried free samples and I can't say I've ever been moved to buy one but I think I might need one, more for dark circles than lines.
Please advise me 'cause there's no point going to the make-up counters, they'll just try to sell me theirs.
Thank you!

I bought the new Nivea Illuminating one at the weekend, I'm pretty impressed. I also read that you should use your concealer at the darkest part of dark circles, ie in at your nose and then down your nose instead of under your eye. The jury's still out on that one, but I'd recommend the cream

Thanks Choco, that's a good start because Nivea isn't expensive. I thought somebody might recommend some fancy Creme de la Mer stuff at 200 punds a pop!

It on offer in Superdrug at the moment

I was looking at reviews for the same thing at the weekend, as I have pretty bad dark circles, although lines aren't so much of an issue (yet...) My bits of research have made me decide I'm going to buy Boots' Time Delay Instant Eye Brightener this week, as it's pretty cheap, and people on beauty blogs seem to think it's very effective. I came across it first here on the Guardian, and I've usually found I agree with the woman who does the beauty testing. I'll report back when I see how I get on with it.

is the nivia uplift range any good??

Nezzi · 07/04/2009 13:54

£5.50, that's my kind of price! Especially if I can get it in a 3 for 2.
