Womans clothes, s,m,l = what in terms of sizes?

ie would a top size M be a size 14?

I'm not sure what size to get.

M = 12-14 I think

S= 8/10, M 12/14, L=16/18, XL 20+?

my guess
8-10 = small
12-14 = medium
14- 16 = large?

depends on where you shop - went to MK last year with my best friend who's a 14/16 - she bought a new jacket that was XL and fitted her perfectly - I was a skinny size 8 at the time and fitted perfectly into the same jacket in a M
