Need to find a dress for my little one to wear to a wedding in few weeks time. Any suggestions of not too frilly dresses??

I would stick her in a babygrow and not bother with a dress.

notnowbernard · 02/04/2009 13:16

Babygro

singyswife · 02/04/2009 13:18

Debenhams had some lovely ones when I was in the other day. here

licquorice · 02/04/2009 13:19

Hmmmm. Fancied getting her a bit dressed up. Been given some money from my nan for an outfit for her

Mine would have only puked or pooed up the back of it within an hour of wearing it though

You can get really lovely babygros... splash out on one that's abit different instead? (And pack some spares!)

fruitstick · 02/04/2009 13:22

Go for a babygro - but maybe a more expensive one that looks like you've made the effort

licquorice · 02/04/2009 13:23

She never pukes, and we use washable nappies which never fail, so she's unlikely to mess it up. Would obviously have change of clothes though in case. Big nappies mean that dresses fit better than babygros too

Total waste of money.

fruitstick · 02/04/2009 13:24

this with a long sleeve vest underneath and a cardigan?

Stretch · 02/04/2009 13:25

I don't think dresses or outfits look that good on small babies, too scrunched up to see it properly. Agree with a really nice babygro.

PortAndLemon · 02/04/2009 13:25

I'd get a really nice babygro, a lovely cardigan and a nice blanket. Then she's "dressed up" but it's still (reasonably) practical and appropriate.

Disenchanted3 · 02/04/2009 13:25

Awww leave her alone!

My DD wears dresses everyday since about 4 weeks old!

notnowbernard · 02/04/2009 13:26

There is ALWAYS a 1st time...

I just think little babies in dresses must feel a bit uncomfortable. And you have tights to wrestle with

fruitstick · 02/04/2009 13:26

As a washable user myself, I'd give yourself a break and put her is disposables for the day.

Noone will judge you!

ComeOeufeneer · 02/04/2009 13:28

Spoilsports!
Would rather stick to washables fruitstick. She has very runny poos and they are contained by wrap but always leak out of disposables

I like this - put it over a nice babygro

Or this is kind of cute

Oh dear, I only have a boy...

missblythe · 02/04/2009 13:35

Personally, I'd just go for a pretty sleepsuit, but you sound dead-set on a frock, so how about this? Long sleeves mean you wouldn't have to truss her up with a cardi as well, and it's jersey, so should be nice and soft on her ickle baby skin

monsoon

Zara usually have some very prety baby girl stuff too

scotlass · 02/04/2009 13:37

I think this is gorgeous in rl, with a little cardigan she'll look beautiful

Disenchanted3 · 02/04/2009 13:38

love that missblythe

missblythe · 02/04/2009 20:34

Not a frock, but gorge. There's a matching cardi too

I would go with something like [[http://www.pumpkinpatch.co.uk/popup_swatch.cfm?swatch_img=533010_whi_XLG.jpg&on_swatch_height=500& onswatchwidth=433.531746032 this] and the cardigan here
