ok, i'm due to pop any day now (2 days late so far...) and am so so so keen to not wear maternity clothes or jogging bottoms all the time!
i know that my body will not behave like elastic but want to get some new clothes that will flatter/ camoflague any wibbly bits.

what works?

ps i'm 5foot 2, pre PG size 10 probably pear shaped.

please please help!!!!

Skinny jeans and nice flowing tunics with boots/pumps made me feel much more human, with bf camisole underneath while I was feeding.

Primark do great skinnies for about £8 until you're back in 'your' size again.

Be prepared for anything you buy immediately after the bitrh to be too big after only a few weeks so don't go overboard But I got some nice cheap jeans from M and S and tops from H and M over vests to make bf easier. I must say I did feel much more human after having ds as I made the effort to not just put maternity clothes on as I did after dd, but it is essentially a waste of money. I'd go for a pair of jeans, a pair of linen trousers in a dark colour and maybe a nice skirt (have a look in Fat Face, I always find theirs flattering) and some loosish tops, H and M have lovely cotton ones, don't go for manmade fibres as you will sweat more thn you thought possible. Good luck

M&S do great linen trousers which have discrete elastic at the back - they're the only trousers I bought immediately post pregnancy that fit still apart from....

Topshop do some gtreat maternity skinny jeans with discrete panels at the side. I wore them constantly until denim started itching (around 7 months) and wear them now - they look great & no one can see the stretch panels at the side.

Leggings (normal not maternity) ones are great too with long tunics.

One thing I definitely reccomend is good vests if you plan to bf. I've worn one everyday for 10 months! (Not the same one of course!) Peacocks do the best (yes, Peacocks!) I've found in their "My pretty vest" range - 3 for £7 I think and in loads of colours. They you can hike up your tunic and still be covered by a vest!

I wouldn't buy much, as you will lose weight and change shape as time goes on.

I lived in yoga pants or leggings with long tunic tops over for the first couple of months.

I'm now 4 months postnatal and have lost quite a bit of weight, but still have a bit of a baby belly and big norks. I'm loving dresses over long leggings or thick tights - dresses have to have a bit of 'drape' around tummy area and preferably with a deep v neck to accentuate boobs and waist and detract from tummy rolls

Definately skinny jeans and tunic. Be careful though. Straight after the birth I bought the next size up as I thought I'd put on lots of wieght only to go back to my normal size again. However, my tummy is not the same as before alas so mabe some highwaisted jeans would be a good idea if you are like me.
