so as per previous threads, am avoiding "maternity" clothes if at all possible... so as a casual yet 'nice' outfit have bought this. I think it all works pretty well, but please tell me if my preg hormones have destroyed my taste!

this top

these jeans

and these shoes

I know it's all a bit extravagant - well. the top is - but I skimped so much in my first pg with the attitude "well it's only for a few months, what's the point' - and then felt miserable and frumpy the whole way through. This is likely my last pregnancy so I want to thoroughly enjoy it (and have just sold loads of stuff on ebay to raise the funds....)

so do you like?

LOVE the top and jeans. Well done!

But I couldn't have walked in those shoes when pregnant - I needed absolutely flat shoes or I lost my balance!

Fimbo · 26/03/2009 13:55

Top and jeans are ok but agree with Anna re the shoes. Are you mad?

Lizzylou · 26/03/2009 13:56

Bloody hell, I don't look that nice normally, let alone when pg!

Love it all, esp the top, agree about the shoes though, I wouldn't have been able to walk in those whilst pg

all lovely - have you tried the eva jeans from topshop? i'm 21 wks pregnant and have got those - they're fab and very much umm 'inspired' by the love story ones but quiet a bit cheaper.

I've also just bought non-maternity tops as figure will wear them after so can justify cost that way.

This is my 3rd pregnancy but a surprise one so had got rid of all old maternity clothes.

MadreInglese · 26/03/2009 13:57

£211 for a t shirt???

EdwardBear · 26/03/2009 13:57

KingRolo · 26/03/2009 13:57

Extravagant! It's £211!!!!!!

LetThemEatCake · 26/03/2009 13:59

KingRolo · 26/03/2009 13:59

LetThemEatCake · 26/03/2009 14:00

Lovely outfit. The top is gorgeous. I love it when internet clothes shopping goes well Ordered 4 dresses recently and all of them fitted beautifully.

Fimbo · 26/03/2009 14:03

Are you the poster that is always buying expensive things from Net a Porter?

KingRolo · 26/03/2009 14:03

To be fair, it really is a beautiful top.

MadreInglese · 26/03/2009 14:08

It is very pretty

LetThemEatCake · 26/03/2009 14:14

I am not always buying expensive things off NaP Fimbo. I often LINK to NaP to drool over gorgeous things or laugh at overpriced revolting things and then I OCCASIONALLY buy (the nice things not the overpriced revolting)

But thanks for liking the top, I think I will get loads of wear out of it, in pregnancy and beyond.

And congrats tracybath!! we are in the same boat, a surprise number 3!!!!

Fimbo · 26/03/2009 14:15

Ah so it was you I was thinking of. Congratulations on the pregnancy btw

MarshaBrady · 26/03/2009 14:19

I love the top, is it long enough to cover a bump?

Hope you have very high handles on your walking frame pram with those shoes to stop the stoop!

Feeling pretty during pregnancy is a great idea.

ThePellyandMe · 26/03/2009 14:29

The top is gorgeous, jeans lovely too.

The shoes....I couldn't walk in shoes like that any day of my life let alone when pregnant.

Tillyscoutsmum · 26/03/2009 14:32

Gorgeous - all of it and

LetThemEatCake · 26/03/2009 15:46

thanks everyone. I was feeling pretty happy with it all (and had the thumbs up from my kids, which was lovely - my 2.5yo dd declared "Mama! I want to marry you!!") but it is always nice to get the MN seal of approval.

ps - yes the top is long enough - well, voluminous enough really - to cover a bump. Lots of fabric.

thanks again!! so excited! can't wait to be all summery and pregnant and not wearing horrible clothes!! (honestly if you could have seen me in the summer of 2006 .... ugh)

OP posts:
Fimbo · 26/03/2009 16:34

LTEC you are gorgeous, I can't imagine you look ugh even in pregnancy.

LetThemEatCake · 26/03/2009 18:35

Thanks Fimbo

it was mostly just the minging clothes I wore. Like, "let's just buy Primark t-shirts 2 sizes bigger than usual for £2 each! that'll do!! And horrible bland mothercare maternity things - I hate them but hey, they're cheap."

So I looked/ felt tatty and blah.

This time, good wardrobe, fingers crossed. But, swings and roundabouts - have been afflicted with a touch of hormonal spottiness around my jaw.... the oil cleansing method does seem to be making a difference though!!

OP posts:
janeite · 26/03/2009 18:57

Love that top but gobsmacked at the price. I'm afraid I hate the shoes though but each to their own!

samsonara · 26/03/2009 19:27

Nice top and jeans. I'm impressed you can be so glamourous with what will be 3, 3 and under, I have 3 who are 3 and under and my clothes are always covered in food smears and puke and such like. I have to change to leave the house if I want to look half decent. I agree though buying great pregnancy clothes make syou feel great, I bought new stuff for each pregnancy but all from high street shops and wore alot of lose embellished tunics which accomodated bump. I think the shoes will look silly during pregnancy and a bit too desperately trying to be fashionable whilst pushing a buggy afterwards, great though for when you are buggyless, they are a great on trend colour.
