Of course! He'll thank me when he sees your lovely soft hands (if he can find you in the mess!)

flippineck · 25/03/2009 10:57

Another vote for Body Shop hemp hand cream. I have v dry, cracked and occasionally bleeding hands and it really works. Don't like Neutrogena, although DH swears by it!

I find that a lot of the big brands - Nivea, Atrixo, some of the other Body Shop ones, etc - make my hands sting quite badly. And the smell is too much.

sobloodystupid · 25/03/2009 10:57

I love Atrixo, great on a day to day basis. If you want to splash out Aveda's hand cream is fabulous, smells great and gives your hands a top up of moisture...

I always wear marigolds!

What I don't do is wear gloves throught winter becouse AI cannot ever find them, usually find the around this time of the year (see flamegoat I'm already a lost case!).

Do you put handcream on under the Marigolds? I do, and it gives your skin a bit of an intensive boost esp if they're in hot water.

I forgot about the C + E one. My mum gave me the set with the scrub and it is indeed fab.

cyteen · 25/03/2009 12:38

Don't buy Boots Natural Collection Daily Treatment hand cream, it's shite The moisturising effect lasts for all of five seconds before my hands feel like tracing paper again.

trixymalixy · 25/03/2009 12:46

Clarins or Neutrogena

Chinwag · 25/03/2009 13:06

Body Shop Hemp hand cream. Smells a bit funny, but works really well.

slug · 25/03/2009 13:19

Aveda's Hand relief. I used it on my scabby flaky arm after the cast had been taken off.

Smells divine also

beansontoast · 25/03/2009 13:37

i am a 'whatever comes to hand' kinda girl when it comes to creams...aveeno,diprobase (ughk) vaseline,a lovely cream my friend bought me,champneys cirtus wotsit hand and body cream...BUT

i have just been at my frind's house and she passed round a tube of Clarin's hand and nail cream...and I REALLY CAN FEEL AND SEE THE DIFFERENCE...LOVELY!

frostyfingers · 25/03/2009 14:38

No suggestions, but not long ago I shook hands with someone who'd I'd never met and he very kindly said, "Hmm, agricultural hands...." Not amused I can tell you, even if they aren't soft and pampered!

imaginewittynamehere · 25/03/2009 15:49

Badger healing balm here, best thing I have every used. Is in John Lewis & some Sainsburys too

bluebump · 25/03/2009 15:56

I like the Badger healing balm too but my all time favourite is this stuff, it sinks in really well and smells divine.

georgiemum · 25/03/2009 15:58

Georgiemum Tip #476

Smear on loads of E45 before donning some rubber gloves and doing the washing up in water as hot as you can handle. Works a treat.

MrsMattie · 25/03/2009 15:59

Loads of good suggestions, here. I'm using Aveeno at the moment and it's pretty good. If I had more cash, I'd go for Aveda's 'Hand Relief' , which is superb. I've used the Neutriogena and Nivea ones, too, and both good.

pmsl!@'agricultural hands'!

noddyholder · 25/03/2009 16:00

Clarins for me too - best ever and has won lots of awards as one of the best.

I do like Bodyshop Hemp cream too but just find that it leaves your hands a bit greasy for a while after.

ClaireDeLoon · 25/03/2009 22:48

I love L'Occitane Shea Butter hand cream (so much I keep buying it for friends and family my mum got it for Mothers Day). It sinks in very well not at all greasy but lovely and moisturising.

I've also stopped using liquid soap as I found it dried my hands out to the point they had a touch of what could have been excema on the back of my hands between the knuckles. I read the tip about liquid soap possibly causing this problem on MN, switched to some ordinary soap from lush and it has made such a difference.

Simply · 25/03/2009 23:11

I've run out of Eucerin and can't seem to get more locally. I've just sent off for some free samples on their website. I also like Snowfire healing balm. I've tried most of the ones listed here including the Body Shop hemp one which seems to help the not so bad bits but not the worst, severely cracked parts of my hands.

Pawslikepaddington · 25/03/2009 23:15

Another super-concentrate neutrogena fan! Also use this when they get really bad and need an expensive treat-SOOOO soothing-oooh.

chisigirl · 25/03/2009 23:48

another vote for the Body Shop hemp one (especially putting it on before bed and putting their white cotton gloves on!)

also the Clarins hand and nail cream

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 26/03/2009 10:04

thanks to you all.

now I've got a good list for the next 100 mother's days, valentines etc.

I was not doing so bad with the clarins then ut will try some others too. one in the car, kitchen, bathroom etc
