Skin So Soft V Midges

Ok so which Skin So Soft is it these days, it used to be Woodland Fresh. But names have changed and you get "Soft and Fresh" and "Soft and Sensual", plus others.

One freind swears blind that any of the Skin So Soft range will do, any flavour any lotion/ spray, others say the Soft and Fresh, in dry oil spray.

Help, I am a new rep and everyone is asking me or giving their varied opinions, plus my area manager is on holiday so can't ask her.

Any other Avon related recomendations or advice welcome .

That is so true!!! We used that for years to prevent bites from mozzies when going to Turkey!! It really does work I haven't been away for a few years so haven't used it lately, didn't know they had changed it

skramble · 23/03/2009 22:02

Yup all new names and everything from firming cream to silky serum plus an anti aging range.

HedKandi · 23/03/2009 22:24

this stuff, they charge double for it in camp sites in the highlands

HedKandi · 23/03/2009 22:25

more info on it

ladymariner · 23/03/2009 22:27

Thankyou!!!!!!!!!!!

skramble · 23/03/2009 22:34

Right from reading up on it, its the .........
Soft and Fresh, blue bottle, dry oil spray, the oilyness of the spray seems to be the secret, so perhaps the Soft and Sensual dry oil spray will work aswell.

Good good, now I know what to recommend, it is on BOGOF in the present brochure too, and the Soft and Sensual is on a 4 for £5 deal includes the dry oil spray, Sorted!

Thanks .

Its the green coloured one Soft and Fresh. It contains citronella in the fragrance thats what the midges don't like.
The others in the SSS range don't have citronella so they don't work.
Its not the oiliness its whats in the fragrance.
My friend was an avon rep for 20 years and said all her customers swear by it. She says use the bath oil too as that has the same effect and will cover every inch of you.
We went to Australia a few years back and were presented on arrival with Australias best industrial fly deterrent. It smelled just like a slightly stronger version of the Soft and Fresh.

skramble · 23/03/2009 23:03

Ok the Soft and Fresh is a greeny sort of blue.

Green is now Soft and Firm, from waht I can see in the latest brochure.

skramble · 24/03/2009 22:14

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 24/03/2009 22:16

Got a forces base nearby? They buy shedloads of the stuff!

skramble · 24/03/2009 22:19

Not got one nearby, but a good reason to try and find one and hang out with my brochures slavering over them in their uniforms .

It doesn't work.

SoupDragon · 24/03/2009 22:21

Used it in Antigua last year and we all got bitten to death.

skramble · 24/03/2009 22:33

Oh shame it didn't work for you, maybe you are just one of these people bugs are atracted to. Don't know about Antigas bugs but scottish midges seem to be put off by SSS.

The original version worked in Florida a good few years ago. This version did nothing (and it was the right version )

ssd · 25/03/2009 08:00

so tell me again, what will I use to get rid of Scottish midges when we go camping this year? I don't want to order the wrong thing

Saltire · 25/03/2009 08:20

DH - who is usually a great snack for midges and any other biting insect, swears by it. When he was on an exercise in teh Highlands he took some and he and his tent mates managed to use 3 bottles in 3 days
I use it when we are in Scotland, it's great. it's definately the stuff in the green bottle

ssd · 25/03/2009 09:32

so is it skin so soft oil spray in a green bottle?

smugmumofboys · 25/03/2009 09:37

We used it last year on Arran and a lady there said all the locals swear by it. I think it's meadow fresh.

skramble · 25/03/2009 23:01

Its Soft and Fresh
