Bloody Bravissimo

Argggghhhhhh!

I haven't been in there before and therefore don't know how the "system" works.

One hour and 45 minutes later with 4-5 different girls telling me the back was too big or too small cup too big too small too full too cutaway one felt the need to enlighten me.

It turns out that when you get there you book a fitting and then you have one girl who helps out and you have a chance of getting the right bra.

Along with this suggestion she also told me that I was too late now but I could come back another day.

So no new bra, norks still firmly in waistband
Also felt it was a complete embarrassing waste of time and effort

!!!

How crap.

Nabster · 21/03/2009 17:38

Why couldn't they tell you that when you first got there?

iwontbite · 21/03/2009 17:39

that's awful. it isn't up to you to know how the system works. if you were hacving trouble one of them should surely have offered to do a proper fitting for you????

how very bizarre of them

MissGreatBritain · 21/03/2009 18:53

I had a similar experience there. An hour and half, really rubbish fitter, came away with bra that was still too small. In the end I went to our local old-fashioned department store who were brilliant. I actually measured 3 cup sizes bigger than bravissimo had said! Took the bra back and they were happy to change it. but have never been back since. Would recommend somewhere like House of Fraser/John Lewis as I think they're much more reliable.

llareggub · 21/03/2009 18:55

It is definitely worth going back for a proper fitting there. I've never had a bad experience with Bravissimo and I've been a customer for years. I went elsewhere once and ended up with the worst fitting bra, ever. It is a pain having to book, but it is well worth it. They have a much better selection than anywhere else, too.

I don't think that the booking for a fitting aspect is particularly well advertised - I've never bought anything there because I have not understood the system and because you are asked to give your name, address etc before they will sell you anything.

llareggub · 21/03/2009 19:09

You don't have to give your name and address, you can refuse. I did, because they only want it to send out the marketing stuff. The fitting aspect isn't well advertised, but to be honest it is a better system than waiting around for ages on a busy day. When I go there I go early on a Monday morning when it is likely to be quiet, and even then I usually have to wait for a fitter to be available.

Unfortunately, the sales assistant in my local Bravissimo store refused to sell to me when I queried giving my details. I asked if I could pay by cash rather than debit card if that was the problem, but was told that it was their policy to keep details on their customers (I presumed it would be for marketing purposes).
I'm glad to hear that this is not the case in all Bravissimo shops

RinkyDinkyPinky · 21/03/2009 19:37

When I was 8 1/2 months pregnant and in my local Bravissimo, I asked a member of staff if I might quickly use the ground floor disabled fitting room to try on a feeding bra, rather than go down the big flight of stairs. I explained that I had SPD and was finding stairs v difficult. The staff member said yes.

Then another staff member came along and knocked on the changing room door, whilst I was in there with my one bra to try and told me that I would have to go downstairs in case a disabled person came into the shop!

It isnt for marketing purposes because you can ask to receive no mail. They take your address details incase you lose your receipt. If you lose your receipt then they can trace the sale should you need to return anything. Without proof of sale they cant do anything about it. Its for your benefit, not theirs.
