LEGGINGS - who sells the best ones?

ok, fancy trying a pair but not sure where to look.

Tried some on in M&S today but I could still see skintone on my legs IFYKWIM! Should they be more 'solid' black? They were not exzactly stretched over my legs - I think a bigger size would be no good.

Anyone give me the lowdown please?

Thanks

I bought some from dotty p's yesterday, had to buy a longer leg so they reached my ankle, but they're comfy.

RinkyDinkyPinky · 20/03/2009 15:27

Watching, I'm a legging virgin too...

LetThemEatCake · 20/03/2009 17:35

american apparel, hands down

blochs also good, do they exist in the UK?

TheRealMrsJohnSimm · 20/03/2009 19:15

Top Shop are good (I buy the extra long ones even though I have short legs.....they then sit slightly below my ankle which I think is more flattering than just above or on it (perhaps cos I have cankles ).

Would also say American Apparel too - but that's by reputation rather than personal experience.

Thanks will check out Topshop

Topshop longer length ones. Dotty P's also have good long ones. M&S long ones are fab, but they never seem to have them in stock anymore

MrsMattie · 20/03/2009 20:09

FYI - if you want thick, black footless tights instead - Primark! £2.50 and bloody brilliant.

kikid · 20/03/2009 20:09

Got mine from amazon, are very black, £5

BeehiveBaby · 20/03/2009 20:13

Are any of these good for knee bag?

TheRealMrsJohnSimm · 20/03/2009 20:24

Beehive Baby: it took me a minute or two to decipher what exactly you were asking .

No knee bag with Top Shop version. Have worn mine regularly since Christmas and are still in prime condition.

MrsMattie · 20/03/2009 20:25

Same here. No knee bag with any of the ones I have mentioned. Only got it with H&M ones, which also shrank and looked faded after one 30 degree wash

midnightexpress · 20/03/2009 20:27

IMO there is no such thing as a 'good legging' - they are an abomination.

merlin · 20/03/2009 20:28

So, Mrs M - should I be seeing a bit of skin through my leggings or should they be solid black?

God, I haven't a clue!!!!

DEFINTELY need to be 'solid' black, if you can see skin through them, they are too tight, or the material is too thin.

Topshop ones are really good, thick, don't fade, no 'knee bag' and good waistband.

TheRealMrsJohnSimm · 20/03/2009 20:31

i would say solid black, no?

Black, slightly see-through leggings remind me of over-60's keep fit classes at the local community centre

BeehiveBaby · 20/03/2009 20:34

Thank you I have terrible knee bag problems

merlin · 20/03/2009 21:14

OK Topshop are sounding good. The ones I tried on in M&S today were not tight but I could see leg through them!!
