Am loving my new Boden trousers :-)

I bought these in white using the TYOU discount code (for £10 off and free returns/delivery). They arrived this morning and I am thrilled. I have never had success with Boden trousers before - they seem in general to be cut to a body shape quite alien from mine!

However, these are super flattering and I cannot urge you strongly enough to try them if you are looking for crop trousers for the summer. Finish just above the ankle, and have a "below natural waist" cut. There is zero risk of muffin top but they don't look like Simon Cowell/middle aged frump trousers either. Fabric is also lovely

Only small gripe is sizing: I seem to be between sizes in this style but a small alteration to the waistband of the larger size will sort it.

Can you tell I love my new trousers

Ooooh nice, they are nearly sold out, it's only March.

I was looking at these - are they stretchy and ar they cut big or small for size? Many thanks!

TheRealMrsJohnSimm · 19/03/2009 10:59

WTWTA: I know, it always amazes me how quickly stuff sells out from Boden. I am forever faffing over the catalogue and by the time I get to order have a 5 week wait! However, these I ordered on Sunday and they arrived this morning so not bad at all.

Talbot: they do have a slight stretch to them. I am usually an 8 but the 8 were too small. I am willing to concede that I have perhaps gained a few pounds but there was quite a difference between the fit of the 8 compared with the 10. Having said that, they are such good quality that I think its worth paying a couple of quid to have them altered. They are loose through the thigh - i.e. they are not skinny fit - but not baggy/peg shaped either.

The waistband is roomy but I see that as a bonus! They aren't going to cut in and give over-spillage

Thanks for that. I am really looking for a skinny fit (to go under tunics) so sounds like they're not quite right.

TheRealMrsJohnSimm · 19/03/2009 11:16

I think if you are a "classic" or true size then they will be a slim fit (I'm not - my waist is always an 8 but my thighs are prone to fluctuation so I need to go up a size for my thighs, making the cut slightly looser overall).

I will be wearing mine with tunic tops - I definitely don't think they are too baggy.

There was a review on the boden site which said the cropped jeans were closer fit than the cropped trousers. Maybe try those?

I have been vacillating between the two Mrs Simm and haven't been able to decide! I was worried the jeans would be heavy. Think I'll go for the trousers and I'll let you know i get on.

I've ordered a pair. Zero willpower!

willali · 19/03/2009 12:35

I got these - they are the perfect (long) length for me (shortarse)and fit amazingly well around the bum (almost holy grail proportions) As soon as I got them I went online to order every colour (such is the difficulty in finding trousers that fit) and all sold out

willali · 19/03/2009 12:36

But now I see they are instock

Right where's the credit card

MrsGokWan · 19/03/2009 12:42

Willali may I ask how tall you are and what your inside leg is. Sorry to be personal but I am 4ft 10in and a bit with a 27 in inside leg and I usually find cropped trousers don't look right as trousers with me IYSWIM so if these are ok as trousers I wouldn't mind going for them.

willali · 19/03/2009 12:48

I scrape 5 foot and these if you get the long size 10 are about a 27 inside leg which is perfect for me. I already had the long in stone and have just ordered the long in Navy but the Regular in White so hopefully the white ones will look a bit cropped (aiming for the Liz Hurley look ha ha)

I have emailed Johnnie Boden frequently asking him to do petite trousers but to no avail...

MrsGokWan · 19/03/2009 13:26

Thanks Willali, will give those a go.

Think I might have to start emailing about petite sizes as well. Though if they go for petite as 5ft 3in and under, as some do, they will be no bloody use to me
