When did you first get your LO's hair cut?

DD's only 17mo and I don't think she's sit still long enough to let someone cut her hair but she really does have quite crazy hair and it's getting quite long. Wondering when most people first get their kid's hair cut and do you do it yourself or go to a hairdresser? I've been tempted to snip a few bits that are getting in her eyes.

dd was about 15 months when she first had her hair cut by a hairdresser (we just used to snip bits off as well before that)

Ds was only 9 months but he had much thicker and wavier hair which was difficult for us to deal with.

Try to get a hairdresser who is used to dealing with young children.

I snipped a funny long piece off the front of dd's when she was 5 months old.
Other than that she is 3 in 2 weeks and had her first trim 2 weeks ago (from me)

Maybe I'll snip the bits at the front then. I don't know where a hairdresser would begin TBH. It's so wild. It's still quite short on top but long, curly and wild and the back with bits sticking up and defying gravity all over the place!

Mercy, where did you go? A normal hairdresser or somewhere especially for kids?

I just asked my normal hairdresser if she was used to cutting babies/children's hair, which she was thankfully. They are now completely confident with her.

I did look around for hairdressers who claimed to specialise in children's hair - but they were charging double the price!!
