ok so i have combination skin (prone to spots). I dont have time to do 'full' make up with toddler and a poorley 4 month old so recently gave up foundation and amusing no 7 tinted moisterisor. It is v nice and has spf etc but with my bags/uneven skin tone just isnt enough. I want a light foundation that i dont have to worry about tide marks with/spending ages blending and perhaps one of those light reflecting types that i dont have to spend ages trying to match my skin tone and also that will even my skin tone and one that is going to be kind to my spot prone skin (non clogging type)

am i aksing too much of a foundation?Does such a thing exist?

you need a mineral foundation

mad4mybaby · 15/03/2009 09:12

Go to a bobbi brown counter and they'll have something to suit - I have similar sounding skin and they have a good choice of oil free foundations (I have a selection ranging from light to full coverage).

I can highly recommend them

Agree re Bobbi Brown.

Coldtits · 15/03/2009 09:18

I find a maybelline mousse to be very light, but just a touch too dry on my very dry skin! Might be fine on yours though. It's cheap, and the coverage is surprisingly good

Ronaldinhio · 15/03/2009 09:19

chanticaille future skin

mad4mybaby · 15/03/2009 09:21

id love to try BB and MAC but live long way from any of those counters.l.l

Masybelline Mineral Liquid foundation is great.

cheekysealion · 15/03/2009 12:06

tesco do a nice oil free foundation... which i discovered when i went on hols to the isle of wight and forgot my chanel foundation and this was a fab substitute

Amandoh · 15/03/2009 17:01

Another vote for the Maybelline mousse foundation. So so easy to use and unlike liquid foundations that can dry too quickly and then be difficult to spread/blend on your face it glides on really well with no tide marks.

Make sure you moisturise first though and allow the moisturiser to dry in or you could be left looking oily.

Maybelline is on a 3 for 2 offer at the moment in Boots.

I have the same skin type as you and use Clinique Superbalanced.

I've just bought the maybelline minerals powder foundation, and it's really easy to brush on and good coverage too.

mad4mybaby · 16/03/2009 19:11

hmm think the whole powder/brush thing type powder just be too much at the mo,ireally barely have 2 mins to do and ds1always trying to grab at my make up! How muchis the chanel?? Betting expensive? I have no idea where i would go for it, prob over hours drive which i cant do for a while...

Max Factor Age Renew

Very easy to spread on in a hurry, light reflecting, good coverage, easy blend

I have the Chanel one but find it too heavy for my skin for everyday, I get blocked pores, although it is the one most preferred for professional photography shots (apparently)

mad4mybaby · 16/03/2009 19:58

even if i dont need age renew at 27? Or is it ok to use ifnot needed for ageness?

OP posts:
bubblerock · 16/03/2009 20:29

I won some maybelline mineral foundation and it's really lovely - it's the liquid one and covers well but not too heavy

ChippyMinton · 16/03/2009 20:35

The minerals powder takes seconds to swish on, honestly.
I recently discovered by talking to the lady on the No7 counter that i should choose a pinknbase rather than a yellow base - it has made getting the correct colour so much easier.

ilovesweets · 16/03/2009 20:47

At 27, with Age Renew you'll look like a teenager again!!!

You don't have to use it for aged-ness, no. It creates a light-reflective glow which suits older skins and younger skins (but older skins need more flattering).

mad4mybaby · 16/03/2009 20:50

hmm sounds nice, the little boots in my town should have it. what are the shades like? I dont have anyone with me to compare to my skin! IT is really little shop!

YSL Touche Eclat concealer under the eyes then Chanel Teint Innocence foundation/powder all in one (compact) slapped on - job done! So easy, takes no time at all

mad4mybaby · 16/03/2009 21:09

Metatron · 16/03/2009 21:14

I find the shade Golden suits me really well, I have fair skin with a olive undertone (enhanced with the occasional light spray of face tan). There are 6 shades, should be one to suit you plus there are usually testers
