no advice? please? am not paying full price for this bag but still don't want to waste money on the 'wrong' colour

erm... £199? how much discount are you getting? Personally I would be happy to pay £20 for a bag to put clothes that have babysick and leaked nappy all over them but there you go!

FWIW the darker one is too dark IMO.

Amandoh · 12/03/2009 22:43

Love both colours.

Chocolate is probably more practical but as you already have a chocolate coloured bag go for the caramel.

Amandoh · 12/03/2009 22:49

The Ramalama Drew is nice too. With the drawstring pulled (Shown in black) it looks similar to the Mulberry Poppy bag.

monkeysmama · 12/03/2009 22:50

I'd go with the darker one. The last thing you want with a change bag is to have to worry about where it goes (on the floor of toilets, on the ground in the street while you frantically search for things etc.) I have a really nice giraffe OiOi one that was fairly dear but I love it.

I think change bags are very different from handbags & having a handbag like it isn't that important. Maybe it is just me but I never take a handbag when I have dd and my change bag with us (too much to carry) & then love taking a handbag out when I am going out alone (okay, so three times since she wa sborn 10 months ago but you know what I mean )

Ronaldinhio · 12/03/2009 22:51

never understood the need for one myself

theDreadPiratePerArdua · 12/03/2009 22:56

Caramel colour a bit too close to baby poo colour for me...

But if you're spending that much, get a nice big leather sack you can use for everything later on?

frazzledgirl · 13/03/2009 10:18

Or you could get a Jooki Arielle for £30 less, I have one (total total bargain from eBay before anyone asks) and it is gorgeous.

EdwardBear · 13/03/2009 10:20

Its lovely. Caramel nicest (ignore all the misery guts who will come on now and alternately say 'you dont need a change bag!' and 'How much?!')

LibrasJusticeLeagueofBiscuits · 13/03/2009 10:27

oh I really like that, personally I would go for chocolate but that's because I don't like caramel coloured bags.

sifuentes · 13/03/2009 10:28

I thought they were normal handbags as was just about to consider it for a work bag

I prefer the chocolate colour.

VinegarTitsCoveredinChocolate · 13/03/2009 10:31

I think its a ridiculus price to pay for a changing bag and you are just showing off

macherie · 13/03/2009 10:32

I love the chocolate, won't show stains, and will look good with your bayswater when you use them together

JulesJules · 13/03/2009 10:34

I love it. Personally would go for the chocolate one.

sifuentes · 13/03/2009 10:34

VTCC reading and picturing your name has just made my hangover worse [seasick emoticon]

LetThemEatCake · 13/03/2009 12:18

thanks to everyone for your advice, I am actually leaning towards the chocolate -
but, just for VTCC's benefit, f*ck it, I'll just buy both. Cos after all, I only came on here to show off, not to ask for MNer's honest opinions.

Bloody hell.

sifuentes - I agree, they look like normal handbags. So I'm thinking I can use as such down the line.

Having said that, I have got at least 3 years of changing nappies ahead of me. So on "use per day" basis, and taking discount into consideration, I would say fairly economical.

I like both colours - I can't really decide! What a nice bag though - you could use that anywhere

A great idea to have a non baby-change looking bag. When I think of the years I lugged about my big padded navy rucksack thingy, how I wish I'd gone for a more sophisticated look. As you say, you'll be usung it for some time to come.

kettlechip · 13/03/2009 13:24

I like them both. Chocolate more practical though I think. I'm quite tempted and my youngest is now 19 months so it's not really worth it!!

Horton · 13/03/2009 13:41

I got a lovely big leather olive green sack type bag in Gap for £55 and a changing mat for £20 with pockets for wipes, nappy bags and nappies. The changing mat was really handy when there wasn't a changing table available. The bag is perfectly good quality, doesn't look like a changing bag and holds everything you need. If I were you, I'd look for something like that and spend the extra money on something else. £200 is a lot of money to spend on a changing bag, IMO.

Jewelsandgems · 13/03/2009 15:03

It is a lovely bag, but what happens when you are out with your DH, and he has to take the bag (or goes to change the baby) he will not be too impressed with that one!!

(also on a boring practicle note, those straps looks mightly shiny, and may be a bit slippery on your shoulder - and if the bag is packed full as is usually the way, will it feel rather bulky to carry on your shoulder?)

I used a tan leather messenger style bag with a zip top rather than flap-top and found this worked best for me, could be used by DH and gave me lots of free hands. Bearing in mind from when my DD2 was 9 months, I could use a normal bag as all I carried was a nappy, tiny pot of creme, wipes all - in a nappy sack.

monkeysmama · 13/03/2009 22:05

Make sure it fits on your pram properly. As I said, I love our OiOi but it doesn't hang on the pram in the same way the Quinny bag does (it is a Quinny pram). Do you have baby yet or are you pregnant? My advice would be to wait until you have baby - maybe for 3 or 4 weeks until you start getting a grip on what you need / don;t need to take out?

LetThemEatCake · 14/03/2009 09:25

thanks MM. I have two children (aged 1 and 2) one in nappies, one not - and another due in September, SO will have 3 children aged 3 and under and 2 of them in nappies.

So will def get a lot of use from this bag.

and to everyone who has at the price, can I just reiterate - I AM NOT PAYING £200 for it. Although to be honest, so what even if I were?????

Plus .. as well as being a FT mum, I work for myself and frequently need to lug my laptop around - this bag would do the job, even after all the kids are out of nappies.

I prefer the darker one. The lighter colour one makes me think of seventies french men's handbags. No idea why though!

LetThemEatCake · 14/03/2009 10:42

lol citronella!! def the choc then.

twinsetandpearls · 14/03/2009 10:51

I prefer Amandoh's one.

I dont see why people are giving the OP a hard time if she can afford it why not she will use it every day.
