semi-permanent? blow dry? That works for me, on the day of washing, at least!

GHDs
Glossing spray

tigerdriver · 12/03/2009 22:23

vinegar in the rinse

vinegar rinse, it helps to lye all the hair cuticles the same way and this then in return makes the hair smooth and then reflect the light.

vinegar rinse and then a spray to help the shine.

harpomarx · 12/03/2009 22:29

would have said no to straighteners if you have straight hair - it will just dry it out, surely?

wouldn't have thought blow-drying would take that long if your hair is straight?

I like the spray shine stuff found in the hairspray section

Yes, the straightening irons will help you as they will smooth the cuticles - but you won't need expensive ones as they will only need to be pulled through the hair quickly once rather than over and over again for someone without straight hair.

choppychopster · 12/03/2009 22:31

I use the John Frida Brilliant Brunette range. The shine shock glosser that you put in befrore blow drying is ace.

popsycal · 12/03/2009 22:33

thanks! might borrow a set of straighteners and see. and will peruse the gloss stuff in boots

now, next, how do i get it cut? it ha been the same for years give or take 4 inches....not posting a pic thpugh

I have exactly the same hair. Very straight, brown, shoulder length.

Very shiny because I use GHDs and Toni and Guy shine spray from Boots.

The GHDs make a huge difference IMO. Well worth it!!

I get lots of because my hair is so straight but I don't think it dries it out because I use them so quickly.

Zebraa · 12/03/2009 23:19

I have really shiney hair and I blow and straighten every day. the only thing I can suggest is washing it everyday.

stainesmassif · 12/03/2009 23:22

a cool rinse after conditioner. serum. straighteners. and shiny hair genes!
