Apparently you can get your DH to do it.

nancy75 · 11/03/2009 21:40

it depends what you want to wax

brimfull · 11/03/2009 21:40

Will watch this thread ,what about sugaring...looks so easy to do.

bobbyswish · 11/03/2009 21:56

I use Immac strips - sorry Veet. Sensitive ones are crap my whole leg came out in green headed spots. Not sure if while preg is the time to start, bump gets in the way.

I only do my legs, shave under arms and pubes. Did try to wax my bikini line once. I'll never forget it and never go there again.

Tips:
Area should be clean and dry. Dont be mean with the amount of strips you use or you may as well not bother.
Always use the little wipe to finish.

I dont find it hurts but I only do my legs.

And obv, do a little test first for a reaction. Said green headed spots happened just as we left for 2 weeks holidays - nice.

I dont think the baby will be doing much stroking of your legs

brimfull · 11/03/2009 22:08

look how expensive a back, sack and crack is!!!

bobbyswish · 11/03/2009 22:08

green headed spots??? why did that happen do you think????

No idea, i've waxed for years with normal Veet strips. Tried the sensitive ones and big greeners all over my legs. Bought some stips in the £shop, another no no. They were actually really good to use but more spots. A reaction to whatever is in the wax I suppose.

Believe me it is not a good look...

If you want to be baby smooth for your baby I'd suggest treating yourself. Tash waxing is not for beginners.

Back, sack and crack - yowsa, now that's gotta hurt!

fin42 · 12/03/2009 00:11

I've used Veet and Boots or Superdrugs own on the lower half of my legs but tbh don't have very thick hairs so I'm lucky I guess.
I use Boots facial strips for my eyebrows and they are very good.
I shave bikini line and arm pits and never tried any while I was heavily pregnant. (tbh went into labour with toenail varnish that was approx. 2 months old because I couldn't bend down that far)!!!!

sarah76 · 12/03/2009 00:15

If you've never done it before, I think best left to the pros!

But don't do what I did, and nonchalantly ask for a Brazilian when you're not entirely sure what that means.

My first (and last) home waxing attempt was with the stuff you heat in the microwave. I couldn't psych myself up enough to rip it off, and it started to harden. My mom had to get it off in the end and took some skin with it!

Tips: Take two ibuprofen 1/2 and hour before, and apologise in advance for swearing.

sarah76 · 12/03/2009 00:18

oh sorry, missed the fact that you are pregnant, skip the ibuprofen!

Don't do the tash unless you're ok with hiding your face for a few days if you break out in hideous little white pimples. I personally think it makes my pores look big and weird, so just pluck any stray big-looking hairs.

leothelioness · 12/03/2009 02:05

I wax everywhere. I am unfortunately very hairy so found it best left to the professionals. I have tried and hated most of the wax at home stuff but maybe I was not doing it right.
If you go professional then try just legs first and see how it goes. The upperlip is best left to professionals otherwise pluck it as the area is very sensitive and if you damage the skin you will have to walk around with it for a few days.
