toast swimwear - only for coltish filly types or can it cope with a (good) bit of bum

need new swimwear as my £4 primark beauty that has done me proud for a couple of years now is about to give up the ghost

was wondering how toast swimwear is for sizes and fit?

I am around a 12 up top with no norks worth talking about and a 14 below. Nice large bum with a fine pair of tree trunk strong thighs

I need something that won't pinch in at top of legs giving unattractive elastic pinched wodge'o'thigh effect and will cover relatively flat but wobbly tummy

if it had those little gaps that I could stuff some chicken fillets in the bra so much the better, but am not holding breath for that

quite like the green and cream polka dot version of
this one or this with a pair of these

I like them - the swimsuit will do more to hold in the wobbly bits. No direct experience.

Have no knowledge of if they are a good shape for your shape etc, but I do really like them. They look like they would be flattering for most body shapes.

MaryMotherOfCheeses · 11/03/2009 21:36

Blardy expensive. Looks mumsy to me.

What does a halter neck do to your top? I've got visions of you looking even smaller at the top and therefore wider at the bottom.

peanutbrittle · 11/03/2009 21:46

think halter is good for the unnorked...so I've heard and have always felt better in halters too, have nice clavicles actually which it might highlight

mumsy...hmmm...was hoping more retro

swimsuit would be better than shorts I reckon. those kind of shorts are definitely only good on coltish filly types (isn't a coltish filly a contradiction by the way).

ahundredtimes · 11/03/2009 21:54

I had one! It was quite like yours, but a bit more 50s perhaps but that was good for the fuller figure

Very good cut, nice costume. I liked mine. But something bad happened to it and I am trying to remember what. I can't remember whether I lost it or whether something happened to it in the wash? Will try to remember this vital piece of information.

your arse ate it?

I like the first one a lot - but £65? For a cossie? 100times was your cossie dissolved by chlorine?

ahundredtimes · 11/03/2009 22:26

Yes! I think Cornsilk has it. I think my arse left it well alone, but it fell apart and went all thin and spare. So maybe they are a bit crap?

higgle · 12/03/2009 07:50

Joules have a nice spotty cossie which is cheaper and a bit less 50's looking

peanutbrittle · 12/03/2009 10:07

hmm, yes do quite like the joules one though I love the green colour of the toast one, but £30 more AND the risk of falling apart quickly if I wear it in a pool is a bit much...

hmm...

yes, the joules website is fairly cringe-worthy what with the equestrian section in there in the midst of the yummy mummy stuff (nowt against horse riders at all, just the juxtaposition says a lot about... something), mind you so is toast, and boden, and...and...

and yes, I realise coltish-filly is a bit of a contradiction now it's been pointed it out...you can see how far I really am from the joules target audience
