Help! I need a quick cheats guide to what I should be looking out for to get that "she knows her fashion onions" look at the school gate.. I missed last year's purple.. what's the colour for Spring? (I need a bit of fashion fun but I'm so lazy with my fashion homework! Perhaps someone could also come round and get me dressed in the morning!?I'm sensing a weird "Graphics/tomato red and perspex necklace vibe" - am I way off?!

Um.... go with what you said, that sounds good!

Amandoh · 10/03/2009 21:37

According to the lovely fashion blokey on LK Today this morning the colour is "Coral" and the fabric should be "Floral".

There you have it.

AnyFucker · 10/03/2009 21:40

coral ??

cannot think of any WORSE colour on me

I will stick to what suits me I think

YeahBut · 10/03/2009 21:45

Jewel colours (not just coral)
Floral patterns
Tribal / safari
Nautical
Statement accessories (bright coloured handbags and shoes, bold jewellery)

LetThemEatCake · 10/03/2009 21:50

I just posted this on another thread. I read this other day and found it quite handy for inspiration/ ideas (as opposed to things to actually buy - pretty ££££ suggestions they make)

fishie · 10/03/2009 22:44

trousers which aren't cropped but aren't full length, with cuffs or turnups.

yeahbut is right. apart from safari which gets trotted out every february and is just an excuse to go to africa and witter on about katharine hepburn.

Sticksineye · 11/03/2009 20:37

I will be wearing mainly coral florals then. What colour actually is coral - is it that crappy orange?

OP posts:
TheRealMrsJohnSimm · 11/03/2009 20:59

Yep - coral is definitely a crappy orange/pink hybrid (think prawn )

Cobalt is supposed to be a hot colour for SS09 (i.e. bright royal blue ).

IME, tis better to go for styles that suit you and express your individuality rather than "fashion" (I borrowed those quotation marks from an uber stylish sales assistant in a Milanese Kenzo store....he fired them in DH's direction when advising on the best choice of coat.....poor DH....twas a good job I was on hand to translate!!)

Amandoh · 11/03/2009 22:16

Coral and floral!

Who'd have thought that Boden would be so a la mode? And a little bag too!

No pictures though. Sob.

hoxtonchick · 11/03/2009 22:21

oh, i bought a coral dress today. marvellous.

BocciBalls · 11/03/2009 22:30

"trousers which aren't cropped but aren't full length, with cuffs or turnups" - I believe this is called 7/8 length...

fishie · 11/03/2009 22:33

hoxty, that bloody chloe dress didn't suit. what a lovely colour though. and the dear zip

coral is not flattering for me. cobalt though....

hoxtonchick · 11/03/2009 22:36

oh no fishie . bugger, i feel all responsible. hey, i think you work near me (well, i saw on a thread you work near lots of uniqlos, & so do i...) -- we should do cheeky lunchtime shopping for apple shaped women with curly hair .

OracleInaCoracle · 11/03/2009 22:37

lil sis is a manager at topshop and always gives me fashion previews (never use them, but hey ho) apparently checked shirts and waistcoats (still)

floral mixed with stripes/stars.

oversized tshirts (still)

but basically anything with a delicate floral pattern on it.

fishie · 12/03/2009 08:25

hoxty sorry i went to bed. would love to - am at traf sq.

my latest purchase delicate floral rather than mrs mop i hope

hf128219 · 12/03/2009 08:33

www.vogue.co.uk/fashion/trends/

Have a look at this. Select what you think will suit you and then take a bit of a trend and find a copy on the high street.

Just don't go for the whole look (or all the trends at once!!)- pick a bag or a top or dress that plays with the trend and make it look your own.

Easy!

hoxtonchick · 12/03/2009 08:42

aha, i am at oxford circus, perfect! i shall cat you . that dress is v. pretty.
