post c-section wear, any ideas?

I'm having a c-section in a few weeks and I'm after some comfortable, but nice-looking clothes to wear in the post-pregnancy days. Last time I mooched around in my maternity yoga pants, but they fell down quite a bit which made the stairs tricky! I've haven't really bought any maternity clothes this time around so I feel quite justified in buying a few things for the early days.

Any ideas? They'll need to be comfortable around the waist, and allow easy access for breastfeeding.

Oh, and I'm usually a size 18, but lost quite a bit of weight during pregnancy so size 14/16 maternity clothes have been fine.

I was wearing high waisted leggings to hold everything in, then floaty cotton sundress things bit like this over the top with a cardigan.

I also wore smock/tunic type dresses over leggings too, you can get ones that have buttons down the front which are handy for bfeeding.

I've been living in trackie bottoms and leggings. Just got back in my jeans this week (8 weeks after).

I wore a post-c section girdle-type of thing, tight, boned medieval looking corset if you will, to avoid the horrid 'overhang' that I'd heard much about . Worked a treat, was a bit uncomfortable but what's a few weeks compared to a lifetime of hiding your belly?
Wasn't too bad actually and allowed me within couple of weeks to wear most of my pre-pregnancy clothes (apart from the slinky, very fitted stuff of course).
The corset also protected the incision from the DTs who were kicking for Scotland even as MicroRollmops....

I wore my bump band for a long time after I'd had my c section. It was great at stopping trouser waistbands rubbing my scar.

I also got a couple of wrap dresses. They were easy to breastfeed in. I used to wear a vest top underneath so I could keep a bit of modesty. I wore hold ups instead of tights.

i lived in these last time and have bought new ones to wear through this pregnancy and post c-section.

They're very comfy, stay in place and don't look too scruffy. Also if you look on hotdeals there's a 20% off the white company code.

Madigan · 09/03/2009 20:01

what is hotdeals, and how do I find out the white company code? sounds too good to be true!

traceybath · 09/03/2009 20:04

hotukdeals.com is a website that has lots of discount codes on it.

The 20% off the white company code is 29Z2B
which you enter at the checkout. I used it a couple of weeks ago and it was working then.

They've also got some nice jersey tops which would be good post-baby wear.

Not "under bump" styles. [pain emoticon]

I found that "under bump" also means "under scar".

I wore M&S sweatpants for ages and my over bump linen trousers (H&M), until my ordinary but "fat" jeans fitted. Unfortunately, 6 months later, I am still wearing them.
