Help! DS two weeks' old - where do I shop for new clothes?

Am early 30s, haven't bought clothes (apart from work stuff and maternity) for a year or more.......now can almost fit into pre-preg jeans, but they look so old and faded. Was excited to dig out my 'slim' clothes, but all a disappointment! Where-o-where should I look for some nice new clothes. An suggestions for handy tops for BF also required.

For BF I used a low cut vest under a top/ T-shirt, so you can pull the vest down under your bra and keep your tummy warm. Although I did have a BF camisole from Boob Design that was lovely and great for my post-preg belly.
( at fitting pre-preg jeans!)

Boob

tops depend on your shape but there are plenty of tummy forgiving tunicy things around

You can "almost fit into pre-preg jeans" after two weeks?! I too am early thirties, DS is 3mo and I'm still in my damn maternity trousers! Sounds like you want to treat yourself to something special so my New Look budget might not be for you!

not got too much to spend - will have to ask DH to pay as only one earning. Just so out of touch with high street. Only moved back to SE England end of last year so have so many more options than when were in scotland. don't know which shops are any good.

Wow, the Boob stuff looks really useful!

What sort of "look" do you favour? And where are you? Sounds like you want new jeans.
Could you get your dh to hold the baby, go to Oxford Street Topshop (midweek - not Saturday!) and try on a load there?

cherryblossoms · 05/03/2009 12:08

Sorry - just seen you're in SE England. Would a day out in Bluewater be the most appalling and traumatic experience for you?

H & M. cheap, cheerful and can equally do blend-in or quirky, whichever floats your boat.

gd luck!

good idea on oxford street as DH works right by there. Bluewater....hhmmmm......i hear they have good baby facilities, so could work i guess. could persuade granny to come to hold the pushchair as i cannot guess how i manage in the changing room otherwise.....DS1 - gives me a new respect for all mums!
