CrazyHorse · 04/03/2009 14:14

No, but then I don't live in Chelsea or have a butler.

Iklboo · 04/03/2009 14:16

No but I heard a billiant story where KT Tunstall was in a shop and they shouted "don't forget your pieces" and she thought they meant sandwiches

DaisyMooSteiner · 04/03/2009 14:17

I bought a lovely piece from New Look last week.

brimfull · 04/03/2009 14:18

who does that these days?

MaryAnnSingleton · 04/03/2009 14:18

MaryAnnSingleton · 04/03/2009 14:19

When I finally can afford haut couture I'll call them pieces, while its still H&M I guess not. Mind you, most of my clothes have pieces of pieces on them (in the sandwich sense of the word piece).

brimfull · 04/03/2009 14:25

now I do refer to a piece of music
is that poncy?

JustCallMeGoat · 04/03/2009 14:26

at ruby.

Now it's making me think of them as well - why on earth???

OrmIrian · 04/03/2009 14:38

No.

It's laughable really.

Heard a girl in SportsDirect the other day talking about having 'pieces' of Adidas

blinks · 04/03/2009 14:46

christ, don't get involved with the art world then, it's piece this and piece that.

my sphincter winces every time i hear it.

JustCallMeGoat · 04/03/2009 14:48

no it is just clothing, pieces of music, art, eight fine by me.

hair pieces ok as well

Horizons · 04/03/2009 16:52

PIECE OF CAKE PLEASE

hidetheribbons · 04/03/2009 19:47

"Investment piece" is a hackneyed phrase in the fashion press, meaning an item of clothing that costs a lot.

AnUnusuallyBigAdventure · 04/03/2009 19:50

No but I do work out the price per wear if it COULD be referred to as a Piece to justify the expense...

Tidey · 04/03/2009 19:50

I was once told to try shopping in Bon Marche as 'You can get some really lovely pieces in there'. Since I'm under sixty and would never call clothes 'pieces', I ignored that advice.

TheRealMrsJohnSimm · 04/03/2009 21:07

I use it for expensive items but wouldn't refer to a Top Shop "piece" and am pmsl at the "pieces of adidas"
