Rosacea-anyone have this?

My skin is going haywire, and I think it may be rosacea. It is red on my chin, and rather spotty and rashy in the centre of my face.I though at first it was a reaction to a product but it isn't going away.-I feel a bit silly going to my GP as it isn't horrendous but I have always had nice skin and it does not look good like this, does anything help?

I happened to see to my doctor about this only a few days ago. They were very understanding and prescribed me an antibiotic cream, so give it a go

How is yours ? are you rashy as well as red?

Yeah. I thought it was a reaction to an (out of date) product as well, but it reappeared a couple of weeks later when I hadn't used anything.

Mine got slightly better when I stopped using the cream but the redness and rashyness is still there. My Dad has skin which is very red and rashy down the centre and it started in his 40's,I think he must have rosacea although his is a lot worse.I fit the demographic too according to the stuff I dug up online (all very scary) in that I am in my 40's,female ,and Welsh.Strangely it is apparently linked to Heliobacter Pylori infection and my dad has that too.Is the cream helping at all yet?

see your doctor, you are not wasting his time

he will prescribe a cream/lotion which I find very effective

mine is just on my nose at the moment, but the doc said I caught mine early and prevented it from getting worse

I use "Zineryt", its very good

i had this under both my eyes shortly after my ds was born. Think it was slightly stress related and made me look like I had been crying ALOT (as you can imagine is not a good look at the school gate when you have a new born baby in tow ). Anyway, was prescribed Metrozidole (sorry have forgetton exact spelling but V similar) and it did the trick after about a month. But it did get worse to start with and I went back to the doctor to say I didn't think it was working but he told me to persevere. Apparently it can come back anytime. I also bought new face cleaner/ moisturisers from a specialist website but have since stopped using them as they were full of parabens.

I started with a steroid cream twice a day for 2 weeks. If this worked I'd have to maintain it with a cream once a day but because i didn't see results I have changed to antibiotics for 4 months to get it under control and then i'll use a cream once a day. I got all the prescriptions for both options in one appointment, as he said, i'd notice if there was or wasn't an improvement. Wish I went straight away!

With any skin complaint you want to "nip it in the bud" as they are much harder to get rid of once they have been there for a while and/or spread. So go to your GP and get some help now .

My friend had this and it was linked to her diet she ended up having to cut out food groups and reintroduce them but it really helped.
