Now , I know, I know I should have checked...but bought a new pair of reak uggs online spent £140...a small mortgage! Didn't realise that you're meant to buy uggs one size smaller than you take. DH has thrown out all the packaging, wore them earlier today, & they're TOO BIG!!! i did go & try them on in a shop, but the assistant said nothing about getting one sze lower that my regular size. I only had them on for around half a hour, & my socks were slipping down on them. I'm so fed up with myself, never spent this much money on shoes before, anyone got any suggests as to how I could return them. They don't look worn...but don't have any of the packaging.

You could buy them in the correct size, keep the packaging and use it for the pair that are too big, and return them that way?

trixymalixy · 28/02/2009 14:47

If they won't take them back you could sell them on ebay, that way you would get most of your money back.

Babybear1 · 28/02/2009 14:52

Thought of that SuzeMcG, but the box size won't correspnd with the ugg size. Do you think they'll spot I've worn them for half hour or so?
Hve checked prices on ebay & really don't know if I'll get my money back, but could try I suppose.

If you explain the reason for selling in a "nice" enough way on ebay I'm pretty sure you'd get at least most of it back
Link to this thread!
If you're willing to accept eg a £20/30 loss I'm pretty sure someone would snap them up.

Hmmmm...hang on...what size and style are they??!!!

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 28/02/2009 14:56

I have never heard that you should buy them in a size smaller. They don't feel like 'normal' boots or shoes they are very slippy sloppy. Don't forget they are slippers really.

Go back to the shoe shop and try them on in a smaller size you'll probably realize then that you have in fact got the correct size.

If all else fails get some insoles like this, that will make them feel tighter.

Babybear1 · 28/02/2009 14:56

Classic short, size 5 in chestnut....fancy a bargain? ...yeah, think ebay it will have to be

Babybear1 · 28/02/2009 14:58

thanks, WTWTW, good plan, the insoles look great, but think my feet might melt, but def worth a shot.

Why would you want uggs?

Especially in the run up to spring. Overpriced and look awful.

I'd try to get a refund and buy some decent leather boots instead.

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 28/02/2009 15:01

Don't worry sheepskin doesn't make your feet hot, (warm when it is cool and cool when it is warm), I have insoles in mine as dp actually did buy them a size too big, he got them in oz and didn't understand the sizing!

Babybear1 · 28/02/2009 15:04

WTWTW, feel a bit better now, am just so annoyed with myself about the size & all that money, will get those insoles.

TDWP ...thanks for the useful remarks...happen to like uggs... don't want a decent pair of leather boots......

OP posts:
WhereTheWildThingsWere · 28/02/2009 15:13

Don't be annoyed, honestly I am sure they are the right size, you just need to get used to them, oh and by the way, ditch the socks, they are so much nicer with bare feet, sheepskin on the toes, blissfull.

LynetteScavo · 28/02/2009 15:16

I thought you needed to buy UGGS a size up - that's what I figured from trying them on in the shop. (Haven't bought any yet- and now probably won't as I'm so confused)

EldonAve · 28/02/2009 15:17

you aren't supposed to wear socks with them

Babybear1 · 28/02/2009 15:17

Cheers WTWTW!

Sorry for the outburst TDWP, just have spent more money than ever on boots, & seriously having a bad day.

LynetteScavo...don't dispair, have started a new thread, just now, 'calling all ugg wearers' ( soory don't know how to craete a link for you), am sure we'll get the answer to the size up or down, just read online dis morn was a size down.

ScorpiowithabigS · 28/02/2009 15:27

no socks, a bigger size.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 28/02/2009 15:31

Sorry I was a bit mean there. Just not my taste.

I can imagine you are gutted though, it is a huge outlay.

Babybear1 · 28/02/2009 15:38

No probs TDWP, am the queen of H&M, Primark, TKmaxx so this a huge outlay!

OP posts:
TheDevilWearsPrimark · 28/02/2009 15:50

Have you tried them without socks, just around the house?

It would mean you can't return them but you may find they fit into your feet a bit better?
