So how smart should I be for work?

I'm an anaesthetist, so spend most of my time in scrubs, but have to visit patients on wards/clinics before operations etc.

Just how smart would you expect me to be?

Would you be doubtful of my professional abilities if I was fairly casually dressed? (cords and a shirt?)

I'm having a post baby sort out and need to buy quite a few things. I'd love just one wardrobe, not a "work" and "home"...

nakle boots are not fashionalbe unless completely flat

but then they would look horible with smart trousers

brogues/loafers better

there are lots of brogues in the shops just now

i am 5'1" with big tits so i kind of know where you are coming from

BA ~ it might suggest they spend more time reading up on medical developments than shopping though??

Not really. You get a feel for whether someone is connected to innovation and progress from their whole demeanour, and clothing is a part of this.

I know from experience (being very old now ) that when I see a doctor in a bow-tie that I am unlikely to agree with his practices.

yes me too anna

Yoox has an interesting range of brogues/laced shoes, depends what shoe size you are, as there some bargains in the A/w 08 stock.

here
bit of a heel on this one

may not these though!

Sorry, left at haste for waking child.

I thought bravissimo was only big sizes? I will deffo be titchy saggy tits soon.

IME doctors in bow ties are generally neurologists... Bow ties mean lots of pondering, very little action.

Absolutely LOVE the green brogues. Shame they're suede... am clumsy enough to drop coffee on them in 5 minutes.

Will now fervently work towards not being anti-fashion....

ah well, there's some bright patent ones as well on yoox; I searched on laced shoes, got some nana' black patent brogues from there last year and they've worn really well, go well with skirts and trousers.

There's a few pathologists about with bow-ties too. They're generally the saner ones!

i used to think i was a 34b but im actually a 30FF after a visit to bravissimo

I know some superb doctors who are so completely unstylish it's funny. One (who is a professor, president of several prof bodies, a real trail blazer in his area) looks like a beardy train spotter

It's the styled to perfection ones that generally I find to be all mouth and no trousers.

Marks and Spencers have some nice 3/4 sleeve fitted shirts in a few colours that are easy to iron as stretchy
