Is Selfridges any good? Local to me we have M&S, Debenhams and La Senza - all a pile of crap. Selfridges is about 15 miles away so not too far to make a special journey but won't bother if they're crap.

I spent £100 on two bras and knicker sets. Never again.

veryembarrassedmummy · 24/02/2009 17:42

They have masses of choice, but never been fitted.

MrsSeanBean · 24/02/2009 17:46

No experience sorry. This area depends so much on the skill of the individual fitter IME. I did get good service from Debenhams once, but I know that there is no consistency. Maybe try Rigby and Peller where, one would hope, there should be some consistency?

nappyaddict · 24/02/2009 17:51

I think you might be right. Everyone on here says John Lewis is good but I tried them and they tried to put me in a 34 back. Debenhams, M&S and La Senza all put me in 32 back but I always wear them on the tighest notch so think I am a 30. I reckon they only say I am 32 cos they don't do hardly any in 30.

Selfridges will have plenty in a 30 back, and also lotys of styles/brands for you to try, although if you think you are above a D cup, your best best is a trip to a Bravissimo.

MadameCastafiore · 24/02/2009 18:00

John Lewis or Contessa are great - steer clear of M&S they are shite!

nappyaddict · 24/02/2009 18:21

I don't think Contessa exist anymore. They are all La Senza stores now.

Argh I need help measuring myself for a bra.

Below my breasts I am 36", and round the fullest part I am 44".

I'm currently wearing a 38G, but figured I need to go down a backsize to a 36G (assuming I worked it out right) but then another method makes me a 40D. What size am I?

Lmccrean · 28/02/2009 15:27

I would avoid M&S. Im a trained fitter and had to test them - they were always way off on all 3 occasions.

Nico - when you are wearing the 38g do you erm, bulge anywhere? does the band at the back go straight across or up in the middle?

nappyaddict · 28/02/2009 18:36

36G is right

BitOfFun · 28/02/2009 18:40

36H, I make you- down a backsize, up a cup size.

nappyaddict · 28/02/2009 19:18

46 - 38 is 8 inches

0 inch diff = A
1 = B
2 = C
3 = D
4 = DD
5 = E
6 = F
7 = FF
8 = G
9 = H

and so on.

OP posts:
nappyaddict · 28/02/2009 19:21

Although saying this I think different companies say different things. Some go on the calculation that 1/2 inch difference = AA, 1 inch difference = A and so on so they all move down the list.

OP posts:
nappyaddict · 28/02/2009 19:26

And some say DD and E is the same so it's a minefield
