Need a moisturiser for very dry and sensitive skin

My skin is so dry (not flaky) that the only moisturiser that releives the the dryness is Astral but its so greasy it brings me out in red pimples or blotches. Ive tried so many over the years for dry skin but they just dont relieve the dryness. Please has anyone got any recommendations?

Superdrug Vitamin E oil is really very good, I have used it for years for my dry skin. It's cheap but just as good - if not better - than anything else I've used. Use it as a night treatment for best results.

pills I'll try that Marks one - sounds good and reasonable. Another good one which dh got recently is Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Moisturising Balm. I too have very dry skin - have been moisturising since I was 11 - and tried this and was very pleased.

Barefoot botanicals SOS cream. I have the body lotion but use it on the face too. Love it. Jurlique balancing day cream good too.

I can't find any of those dermalogica places anyone has mentioned, googled, but found nothing?

Anyway I use Dermalogica Active Moist, which I get from here

Am looking to change as it's not quite enough so will look into M & S cream

Are these all face creams as opposed to body creams? Its face creams I need.

i've nearly always used simple rich moisiterizer on my face and not had any problems - you can slap it on and it soaks in well.
Aveeno for body for me.

Instead of a night cream, try some rosehip seed oil - apply over just damp skin. This might help 'reset' your skin a little. Also, IME Simple skincare's actually quite rough, and brings me out in a colourless rash... Neal's Yard stuff is also good (but pure rosehip oil is cheaper!).

How much are you prepared to pay? Am toying with the idea of marketing my own formula cream for skin like yours (and mine)

couture1 · 25/02/2009 16:39

I suppose I would pay around £20.00 for a good cream that worked on my skin.

www.avene.co.uk/public/avene/html/toolkit/flash/site.php?langueHtml=en , there's a whole range especially made for dry, sensitive skin, and it doesn't clog pores so won't cause spots. Sold in Boots.

BirleyShassey · 25/02/2009 20:39

Hang on, I'll try again Avene
