So I need a wrap dress dress, smart trousers and a jacket - and that's just for starters

Having thrown out almost all of my old tatty wardrobe in a radical effort at a makeover, I am now in desperate need for a capsule work wardrobe. I need to shop online (don't have time to go round shops) but after extensive surfing last night I can't find what I want, so if anybody can point me in the right direction I will be eternally grateful .

To start with I would like a wrap dress, some smart trousers and a jacket (but the jacket not matching the trousers iykwim). I suit warm autumnal colours so definitely not black (I would be spoilt for choice if I could wear black). Brown/green/burgundy/etc are best.

Any suggestions?

That is a gorgeous dress but sadly even at sale prices I couldn't stretch to that. My limit is £100 per item I think - but preferably less.

YOur op made me think of this blog that I've been reading - she's really very good, and maybe some of the things she suggests in her capsule wardrobe (rather than the M&S one) might work.

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 22/02/2009 11:13

Love the dress in that blog. I'm a completely different shape though - small on top with a tummy, and the comments on the M&S website say you need large-ish boobs to fit that dress. Will have a look at the other stuff later though - if they're available in colours other than black & grey they would be good.

Jackieno that's a great blog!

It is, isn't it cornsilk - it was someone on here who recommended it, but I can't remember who .

Whitewine - will carry on looking.

Joules has some very nice wrap dresses this Spring. I am very tempted myself

How about some Boden, whitewine?
this in the brown
this in the brown or ink bud? (possibly need to wear a cami underneath for work)
Maybe this in the brown?

JackieNo · 22/02/2009 12:18

What size are you? Some left in the Boden sale, but limited sizes.

Only available in a size 8
Only in a 12
8, 10 or 12
This in the brown or green?

JackieNo · 22/02/2009 12:24

A possibility?
This is nice, but again, would probably need a cami underneath for work.
Could be good too

I have that Cross Front White Company dress (that JackieNo linked to) and it is lovely on. I bought the Small (I'm a 10/12). For work I have to wear a vest underneath as it makes my boobs look huge.

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 22/02/2009 13:54

Oooh I like the White Company ones. I'm a 12 on top, 14 below, so I usually buy size 14 dresses and have them a bit big on top rather than buy 12 and have them obviously stretching over my fat tum .
