AIBU to want to complain to Jigsaw that I lost a button off a shirt that cost me £65 within an hour of wearing it???

We had the thread a few weeks ago about the finish on clothing.

At first glance, I was very impressed with my new shirt from Jigsaw and even the price tag didn't put me off as it is a classic piece. Anyway, finally get to wear it last night and I lost a sodding button within an hour! Before you ask.........I am very small of nork and the shirt was by no means bursting at the seams - tis a very loose fit.

Now, its not going to take me long to sew it back on, and thankfully I managed to rescue it from the floor, but AIBU to expect that this shouldn't happen after less than an hour's wear? Should I complain to Jigsaw?

yes, complain. Finishing hasn't been done as should be.

Yes go and have a moan. I think poor button sewing on is endemic in clothing these days. But because there is usually a spare button, they don't bank on anyone taking things back. Its a royal pain!

thanks for your replies. Mrsmaidamess - that's exactly what I think: they assume because they provide spares no one will complain. Thing is, how many more of the sodding things are going to come off??

I bought it from the Jigsaw concession in John Lewis. Presumably though I should complain direct to Jigsaw?

If its a concession it might be best to take it back there.

yes, take it back, store will want to know of any complaints, they might even be recalling the shirt, should give you an exchange

Go and tell them, as long as it doesn't cost you too much in time and hassle to do so. A higher-end company like Jigsaw will generally be more aplogetic about these sorts of things than if you bought it from, say, New Look (although New Look have just as much of a duty to sew their buttons on properly).

Just email head office, in your very best English .
