Can I join the waiting queue? I have to buy a size 20 to fit my top (am a 14 everywhere else) and then have big baggy armholes and look like I am pregnant constantly as I have NO shape when wearing a top.

foxinsocks · 19/02/2009 21:40

what size are you ssd?

I am not huge by any means (boob wise) but I despair at the way tops are made. I have started to buy M&S long tops because normal tops just seem to ride up and leave a big gap at the bottom grrrr or they are hideously tight over the shoulder area.

36H

just bought a 16 from sainsbury's, nice colour, but gapes at the front already as I'm so short on the body

Stretch tops, or fine v-neck jumper/cardigan over a camisole. Debenhams, M&S good for those.

Have not sucessfully bought a shirt/blouse (ie. woven fabric not jersey) for years, apart from Bravissimo. Ebay?

Nomads, funnily enough, have some nice shapely tops, although you often need a camisole under to avoid over exposure.

Wrap around tops in fine knit are pretty good and flexible, just wear them over a vest/camisole. I've had a couple of nice - but pricey - ones from Hobbs (silk knit) but Gap quite often have them too, in various blends from cotton right up to cashmere.

I haven't worn anything with buttons for years, they just don't work.
