After Morris and her dreadful Van Dals are Clarks boots also a no no?

I need some new boots for my winter which is your summer. It is not really very cold but grey and dreary, so warmth is not really an issue. I am therefore likely to wear them with a dress/skirt either daytime or evening time. What do you think about these? What is the trend in the UK just now? Any other suggestions?

The link is not working (I don't think they do on the Clarks site). Google the name of the boot and it might come up on another website.

Damn that's annoying, it's Log Book, Lyme Grass and Lunar Sparkle.

I will try and Google, but I'm a bit slow at this end!

I love Clarks and I love Hush Puppies too - great, well made funky shoes and boots imo.

But I feel I may have blown my cred as a style adviser

I hope they're not a no no, I've got 4 pairs. I find them really comfortable and they don't look frumpy imo.

LoveaDAISYcal · 19/02/2009 16:45

I like Clarks boots, and care not if they are seen as frumpy.

Their new extended range has lots of different styles from frumpy to fashionable so i'm sure there is something for everyone.

Did Morris get a pasting then? I just clicked her link and shuddered, but I didn't want to post and be mean!

I am by no means the arbiter of taste, but I rather like these boots.

Themasterandmargaritas · 19/02/2009 16:52

How do their knee-length boots fit? Are they snug on the calves because I have quite chunky calves? I can't try them on you see...

Morris we are all allowed to have our little

If your calves are bigger than about 40-41cms they will be tight unless they have elastic in them
they do do some wide fitting ones which fit my 42 cm calves
