I've tried on in a shop two different Acqua di Parma scents & DP is getting me one on the way home. I tried on Iris Nobile and the classic (Colonia?) one - I don't know which is which all over my wrists, decolletage and elbow-pits. I reek pretty strongly but they are both nice and I don't know which is which, which will I ask him to get as my Valentine's Day pressie on his way home?

I know it's not romantic to choose your own pressie btw.

How can we help in this situation ?!

We can't smell you !

ILiketoMarmiteMarmite · 13/02/2009 16:15

Oh don't you have a scratch and sniff screen yet?

Sorry just thought someone might know the smells and be able to advise which one they thought was nicer!

Or else I am going to have to (gasp) ask DP to choose.

trouble is what I think smells nice and what you think smells nice might be miles apart.

I don;t know the perfumes in question anyway so I don;t even know what I'm doing here

What do they each smell like ?

kiltycoldbum · 13/02/2009 16:32

the iris nobile sounds nicest to me

no i dont have a clue what im talking about, i always opt for fig in anything. which obviously is no help here! lol

ILiketoMarmiteMarmite · 13/02/2009 16:37

LOL also I always thought you were called kittycoldbum now I see it is kilty.

I don't know what they each smell like, the mingled waft coming up off me is gorgeous. Maybe I will just ask him to get both .

well irises actually smell lovely so it cant be that bad! tell him to get a slightly smaller bottle of each, theres compromise!

Sparkletastic · 13/02/2009 16:45

Try going on the Now Smell This blog - has great reviews of perfumes and may help you work out which is which!

ILiketoMarmiteMarmite · 13/02/2009 16:46

Ah. Will Google.

Wish I had that Perfume book, can't remember what it's called, has all the smells in it.

Don't know about Iris Nobile but the original Colonia Acqua di Parma has a very fresh classic old fashioned cologne smell - I love it - As does DH who wore it on our wedding day and it always reminds me of our honeymoon . Guessing Iris Nobile would perhaps be the more floral of the 2

ninah · 13/02/2009 16:51

Can't you ask him to smell and choose?

ILiketoMarmiteMarmite · 13/02/2009 16:53

Ah that's lovely, treacle!

That blog says the iris one vanishes very quickly so I wonder is it the colonia one I am smelling.

I suppose it was a bit daft to post this.
