dress or skirt to wear with knee length boots

Can anyone help dress me please? I have beautiful boots in both black and dark brown which I seldom (ok never) wear because I'm either in trouser suits for work or jeans and t-shirt at home.
I am 5,2" busty and a little podgy at the moment - a large 12 on the bottom but about 16 on top (which I appreciate causes problems with dresses). Could anyone point me in the direction of skirt and top combination or dress for both every day and evening out with friends and or work. I'm not naturally flamoyant in my dress sense. Incidentaly I have some vouchers for both M&S and Next so would love to use these stores but not essential.

I'd suggest a-line skirts - mid-calf maybe. No links, but I think you need to start with the shape and see what's there.
