is it just me or do non-full length mirrors make you look skinnier?

You know, like bathroom mirrors where you see from over your head to maybe mid thigh?

I always think I look skinnier in those than in full length mirrors - why is that? (assuming there is an explanation and not just me!)

Full length mirrors at home, or in shops?

If in shops, some people claim that shops' mirrors are designed to make you look slimmer (as you are more likely to buy...). Don't know if that is true.

If it is at home, hmmm, not sure? Perhaps, if it's a tilting mirror, the slight tilt of the mirror creates some kind of optical illusion.

Or... You are skinnier than you think!

Or... Your bathroom mirror is making you look bigger than you are!

Hmmm. Confused now...

hahaha.. I guess full length mirrors anywhere (shops, other people's houses) as we don't have one at home. My vision of myself cuts off mid thigh so maybe it's just that I get a surprise when I see my knees

There's a 3/4 length mirror in my house that makes me look so very skinny its untrue. I love it. Its the last one I see every morning before I leave the house too, so thats always good. But I've never looked good in full length mirrors. I'm so very apple-y....
