I have leather with a goretex lining (Clarks) and keep them polished
no leaks yet

don;t appear to be in the current collection though
they are shortish with a low chunky heel and a zip and look like (um) jodhpur boots I suppose

KristinaM · 11/02/2009 09:16

my DD has these boots for school Mrs Badger. Are you nine?

MrsBadger · 11/02/2009 09:24

[checks]

nope

but I do have warm dry feet

captainpig · 11/02/2009 10:52

I have these - most comfortable!

lilQuidditchKel · 11/02/2009 13:16

Yes, that height is good for keeping out the wet and being easy to put on.

But black? It's so - black.

This year my parkas were white or brown - so brown boots, brown bag...

Wish there were nice grey ones to be had. Would go nicely with the lining in my dream coat - see above.

YouLukaConfused · 11/02/2009 13:40

I have that coat and am very warm and dry in it, although I do look like a large mushy pea (mine is a lovely olive green)
Have you got coat already?
I wear hunter wellies, which are perfect height, when dog walking, school running etc, and a fab pair of tall Fly boots in brown leather when I want to feel as though I look slighty less grubby and lumpy.

mad4mybaby · 11/02/2009 13:43

what is this coat??? do tell, miseed that thread!

Fimbo · 11/02/2009 13:46

How about these?

lilQuidditchKel · 11/02/2009 15:58

mad4mybaby, fab coat is HERE

Just can't decide on coat colour, or footwear.

YouLukaConfused, is there any shape to it? Bit worried I won't try it on before buying (I don't have it yet).

Fimbo, that's yet another Lands End thing I'm liking alot. but I only just turned 35! Shouldn't I be shopping at Topshop instead??

lilQuidditchKel · 11/02/2009 16:14

OK question is

boring brown colour parka with interesting wellies (Lands End has brown spotty ones, very cute)

or colourful parka - in pink - with even more outlandish wellies, like these?
pink ones

mad4mybaby · 11/02/2009 16:30

oooh i like that coat!!! Silly question but for those that have it are any of you petite? Im only 5'3 and not sure it'l swamp me and make me look like im wearing my mums coat??

Fimbo · 11/02/2009 16:51

I have a dress from LandsEnd

mad4mybaby · 11/02/2009 17:29

iv never heard of them, is it for the erm more mature lady??

lilQuidditchKel · 11/02/2009 17:37

it's an American brand.

(furtively) I'm originally from there.

let's just say that Land's End is very, very practical. it's well made stuff. just not known for being the height of fashion.

sort of like old-style M&S clothes...

so, which colour coat, and which wellies??? This is verging on an obsession

OP posts:
lilQuidditchKel · 11/02/2009 17:39

rather, -verging- -on-

Lol lilQuidditchKel!
I too am feeling far to young to be wearing Lands End but it is amazingly practical, even in its own mushy pea way.
There is actually a cord thingy inside to pull in the waist a bit so you don't look completely like an oblong.
As for colour when it comes to this coat I would go for the dullest least noticeable colour possible. The brown looks good. I have plain pink wellies. My normal wool coat which is really nice and I am happy to be seen in is bright purple.
oh and mad4mybaby while I'm giving myself away I may aswell add that I am about 5ft 3 too and it is fine.
fimbo a dress??

jomole · 12/02/2009 21:45

My lovely MIL gave me these wellies for my christmas. I wore them for the 1st time last week and have had lots of nice comments. Far less for my equally lovely Dune boots here

lilQuidditchKel · 12/02/2009 23:36

jomole, I like those wellies too. i suppose we wouldn't meet in RL ever so you wouldn't mind if I had them too?

I just ordered my dream jacket in ivory

knowing the British summer will not arrive till July, I think I'll get plenty of use of it this year yet!

lilQuidditchKel · 12/02/2009 23:40
