Best product/treatment for dry hair?

The ends of my hair is so dry. I use Pantene Repair and Pritect shampoo/conditioner and Toni & Guy leave in conditioner, which leaves my hair feeling lovely, but the ends are still awful - any recommendations?

What's your budget?

If top end, try Elemis Frangipani Monoi Moisture Melt.

If lower end, pure coconut oil (available in H & B, or health food shops)

Warm/melt 10p size amount of either and gently rub into dry ends. Do this before washing (at least 15mins, overnight better), or do this then tie hair up in bun.

Thanks Penthesileia

Bain Satin by Kerastase. They only sell it in salons, and they'll be able to tell you whether to buy number 1, 2 or 3.

I must admit, I tried Kerastase products, and they really did nothing for me. But a lot of people swear by them. If you want to try it, and don't have a salon near you which does it, you can buy online: here. LaTrucha is right, though, that Kerastase people like to advise you and do a hair analysis wotzit to get the 'right' product for you.

I should add that pure coconut oil is solid at room temperature (it's white in appearance), so if you go for this option, don't accidentally buy liquid coconut oil, which is probably blended with another mineral oil.

You can also use both Elemis or coconut oil as a hair treatment, ie. put all over your hair and leave for appropriate amount of time. I do this before washing my hair, and IMO at least, my hair feels softer for it.

And also, do not blow dry or heat-style your hair when the oil is on it! You will fry your hair!

I wouldn't dare use my Elemis Frangipani oil on my hair, it's too expensive! I bet it's lovely though.

I do have coconut oil though, but it's not a solid one like Penthesileia says so it must be mixed with something but it's amazing! It was only about 3 quid from superdrug and it has transformed my hair after just a few uses. My hair has been frazzled (literally) by home bleaching and I barely need to straighten it when I use the oil.

I tried other KErastase befor ethis and I didn't like them, but I do like that one. I tried it on the insistenc eof my hairdresser - who doesn't sell it, BTW.
