Need help with tights!

Help help! The rules have all changed on tights since I was young and knew about fashion. [sigh]

Am going to a wedding this weekend and have navy blue 'sexy secretary' type dress, red cardy, and either red or blue shoes to wear. What colour tights? Do sheer nude ones make you look like a granny now? I got some opaque dark blue/purply ones, or I have nude micro fishnets, or of course black.

Blimey, a navy and red outfit is a tricky one to add tights to ! Sheer nude generallyt a bad idea. If you HAVE to go tights then I'd go nude fishnets. I think coloured tights (inc) black would just look eithr odd or too matchy-matchy.

I looked at electric blue ones but they scared me! I don't think I have the panache to carry them off. I could go bare-legged and freeze, of course.

Maybe the red was a bad idea. I wore the same colour combo before though and it looked great.

I think it is the red that is making it more difficult - isn't there something else you could wear with the dress? And if electric blue too scary, how about a kind of greeny/blue shade (teal?). Personally I can't do bare-legged in winter, the thought of it makes me wince!

There's nothing that goes though colour-wise. I've got a sort of very very pale wrap that's like cream with a hint of peach, would that work? Or a knitted shrug thing that's beige/cream, maybe one of those.

Can't get out to buy more tights now though so I would have to choose from my existing selection!

ok - just stick to the red cardy then! try on all possible combinations in front of someone you trust and go with it!

right, am off to hunt out every pair of tights in the house!
