DS keeps taking his socks/shoes off! In this weather I am looking like negligent mother.

Any ideas for socks that actually stay put!

Tights

listenglisten · 05/02/2009 13:09

Not for socks but had some little bootees with a velcro strap from Mothercare, which stayed firmly put and socks on underneath.

LoveMyGirls · 05/02/2009 13:09

tights under trousers or babygrows underneath it's the only way.

KingRolo · 05/02/2009 13:16

Yep, tights is the only way!

gingerninja · 05/02/2009 13:19

I thought I was going to be the first to come on and suggest tights! seems everyone had the same idea.

ilovemydogandMrObama · 05/02/2009 13:21

Wow - hadn't thought of tights!

Thanks!

Many years ago GAP socks seemed to do the trick.

2pt4kids · 05/02/2009 13:23

My 11 mnth DS has been wearing tights for ages
In fact he's back in socks a lot of the time now and because he spent soooo lng trying to pull the tights off and not succeeding, he's now pretty much given up!

Debenhams and John lewis do neutral colour tights. Pretty much everywhere else just sells pink or lilac!

Mothercare have plain cream coloured tights, good quality, last ages.

extremelychocolateymilkroll · 05/02/2009 16:43

We've always used tights but I did read about sock ons which might be worth a go.

ChippyMinton · 05/02/2009 16:49

leather 'daisy roots' type bootees seem to stay put. thsi kind of thing.

Jojay · 05/02/2009 16:50

My DS is in tights and / or GAP socks in this weather

kettlechip · 05/02/2009 20:16

GAP socks are the only ones which work for me. Or if it's really bad you can buy some things called sock ons in Jojo Maman Bebe which are meant to cover socks and hold them on..

Coldtits · 05/02/2009 20:20

Tights.

My 2 year old actually has a chill blane because he will not wear his socks, shoes or slippers. So I make him wear tights under dungarees.

kikid · 05/02/2009 20:25

Another tights fan here, bought navy ones for boy, new on e-bay, aged from about 12mths

My2Monkeys · 05/02/2009 20:27

I love these mockasins! Really comfy, with a real leather sole, and they're machine washable too.

controlfreakythecontrolfreak · 05/02/2009 20:29

have you tried superglue?

wobbegong · 05/02/2009 21:53

Nowali moccasins do the job here
