Does anyone else think that Marni jewellery has a whiff of that 'We saw you coming sketch' ?

Look at this - resin and ribbon - not even semi-precious for £475

I think it's rather nice, but not £475 nice - about £15.

morningpaper · 05/02/2009 09:04

hmmm it does look slightly like something you could pick up in Primark for a quid

Merrylegs · 05/02/2009 09:06

It says it's also made of 'horn'.

Is that even legal?!

moondog · 05/02/2009 09:10

Iwould add that I want to stove in the face of anyone who uses the inane expression 'on trend'.

Tis surely the new 'up to the minute'?

People who write fashion and style prose need shooting.

moondog · 05/02/2009 09:11

I think horn is hoof of an long expired nag as opposed to being a rhinoceros one.

MrsSeanBean · 05/02/2009 09:22

Yeah, it's the ribbon that really puts me off!

This sort of thing is hardly an investment is it?

I suppose there are people though, to whom £475 is a mere Monsoon-tenner type frippery.

MamacitaGordita · 05/02/2009 13:22

Always annoys me in magazines how jewellery is described: 'Plastic and metal bangle, Chanel, £300.'

It's the 'metal' that gets me. It's not even silver fgs! Just 'metal!'

CarryOnUpTheLiffey · 05/02/2009 13:31

I think it looks a bit per una.

I loved those troll bracelets, but they were a shocking price. I could try and make something similar ISH myself.

BonsoirAnna · 05/02/2009 17:19

I have two Marni necklaces - one bought in the sale, though.

However, I get major compliments about them and they look fabulous. So no regrets at all .

CarryOnUpTheLiffey · 05/02/2009 19:23

That's cos they don't have per una in France!!!

CarryOnUpTheLiffey · 05/02/2009 19:24

look, gorgeous, but they're having a laugh! wonder if they sell many?
