Smart boots for wide feet

I have drawn an absolute blank for work boots this year due to having long toes. Boots that are in any way pointy just crush them.

Need to do a fair bit of walking around london so the need to be black, flat and comfy but smart enough for a suit.

Realise I'm prob too late this year, was wondering though if there were any good brands to look out for.

Not sure if this will help or not, but as a wide feet girl I adore Wrangler boots. They are the most comfiest shoes ever IMHO. However can't comment on the black and flat part as the ones I get always seem to have a slight heel. However it's a squat heel so comfy enough to wander around in for ages

i feel your pain woodenchair, i walk lots too and have long toes, high instep, wide feet and narrow heel. nightmare.

amazon have quite a lot of styles like dr martens (i have two pairs of their lady boots but they aren't dress) or hush puppies. often on sale too.

natural shoe store again you will have to hunt a bit for smart enough.

hobbs is safe and they often have roundish toes. what size are your feet? i have a pair of black suede 39s worn once (first shoe purchase post pg did't realise about bigger feet).

I have very wide size 8s and this winter I found a very nice pair of knee high flat brown boots in C&A of all places! And only 75 euros.

I'm in this club too; I have very wide feet, narrow heels, high instep (so need a really low zip) and slim calves. I'm also a runner so have various blister/black toe nail combos as well as being susceptible to chilblains.

IME, most manufacturers seem to assume that if you've got wide feet, you've got calves to match so I could store my sandwiches down most knee boots (but don't!)

This year however I found a fab pair in John Lewis, made by Gabor (have had their shoes before as they're wide) with buckles on the sides which were functional rather than decorative. I wear them with skinny jeans tucked in or with skirts, they don't flap around my calves and they have round toes so don't catch.

In fact, I've just found a link to them.

glad to see I'm not the only one!

These wrangler boots look quite round, might pop into town to see if they have any.

I tried some dr martens on 6 too small, 7 like boats. Thanks for the offer fishie, but I'm a 40 now thanks to ds.

went to natural shoe store last week and they didn't have any, although they do stock earth shoes so I now what size I am

These are my casual boots from fly which are really comfortable, but not smart enough to wear with suits.

The gabor ones don't look that wide, may have to give them a go when I see them next, although they look a bit lady like for me!

There is an online shoe shop called www.duoshoes.co.uk/ Duo which I does different sized shoes. Worth a look. I ordered some & ended up sending them back but know a few people who love theirs.

See what you think of the Trippen boots at Ped Shoes. My experience with Trippen's styles is they're well-made and cut wonderfully wide through the foot. Almost all are black and flat, and a few are on sale now. Still a pretty penny but quite worth it, in my opinion! I think either this style or this one might meet your criteria.

I have some Duo boots - love one pair and the others I love the look but not so comfy.
