I'm interested that you use a foaming cleanser in the morning christiana. I switched to oil-based cleansing a while ago on the advice of a beautician, and she was very anti foaming products. The 'oil cleansing method' woman obviously is too. My beautician told me to steer clear of 'detergents' - soaps, anything that foams - as they strip your skin of oil and set up the cycle described on the website.

The site advises just wiping with a wet flannel in the morning - I just let the shower water rinse my face, though the beautician said I could use a toner on its own if my skin felt really greasy.

I do think it's a great site with good advice - not selling anything, for a change.

Do you wear much make-up? I'd like to give this a go but I think it would spread mascara and eye-liner everywhere. Maybe I could use my normal eye make-up remover first? It does requires rinsing though.

I'm like you hotcheese. I think I'll try using the oil on my eyes first, wipe them clean (maybe with damp cotton wool), then start the deep cleansing on my face. If that doesn't work I'll use regular eye makeup remover.

I use "L'Oreal De Maq Elixir Concentrate Ultra Makeup Remover". It's the best eye makeup remover I've ever tried - dissolves waterproof mascara with no rubbing.

Will try using oil like franch says tonight and see if it compares.

I use hemp oil as my base and sometimes add different oils if I'm going through a glitch.

I used to use Shu Uemura cleansing oil to remove my make-up but at £20 a bottle, it's an indulgence I can't really afford any more.

I now use almond oil to remove my make-up - it even dissolves waterproof eye liner and mascara. But I'm a creature of habit and I do like to wash my face with a gently rinse-off cleanser afterwards.

I tried this last night and it is fab. Couldn't stop touching my face today (I know this is bad) as it felt so smooooooth. Got off all my make up too, including waterproof mascara. Thanks for posting it christiana.

How's everyone getting on with this? I'm trying to stick with it tho it is time consuming! Found my very open pores were starting to look very clogged up after a bit so used a scrub - don't suppose this is allowed?!

What products does everyone else use in addition to the oils? I've ditched my Quinoderm for now, but am still using an eye cream. No cleanser in the morning (just water), but using a light day cream. Just a little extra oil on my face at night as advised, instead of a night cream.
