What coloured tights do you reckon are the most flattering?

Am off to a party on Friday night, have a lovely LBD to wear but it is short! Am wearing it with patent balck platformed heels and was thinking coloured tights would break it up very nicely.

I have purple ones but I think they are very unflattering.

What about electric blue or red, or even green?

Also, where is the best place to buy. Would normally do Matalan but will pay a bit more for extra nice quality.

Thanks

i have a few different colours and they are all unflattering (on me).
what about leggings under lbd?

DrNortherner · 28/01/2009 13:16

Don't think leggings will look right.

patterned black tights?

WEESLEEKITLauriefairycake · 28/01/2009 13:17

what about a pattern instead (not 80's lace effect though even though they're 'back')?

M&S have a nice ribbed teal colour which I think are flattering - that tealy colour has been huge this year.

Also I think red is nice but don't forget to have another red accesory, bag, corsage or something.

top shop

i personally don't think any coloured tights are as flattering as a pair of black opaques.

They're fun and fashionable though - could you not do black tights but perhaps a brightly coloured clutch bag?

DrNortherner · 28/01/2009 13:33

Fishnet too slutty for a short dress imo. Patterned a good idea though.

Might get some electric blue and see how they look.

Will report back.

I got some red ones, looked like an oversized elf
Like teal, grey or patterned

womblingalong · 28/01/2009 13:37

Teal or aubergine would be lovely, or dark red/plum. Pretty Polly do some good coloured opaques, they are in some asda's and boots/dept stores

I've got a fab pair of opaque tights in a dark burgundy red. They are really opaque, around 100 denier and I got them online at tabio - they have lasted all winter and I wear them lots. I think they are a really flattering colour (and I don't have matchstick legs) Google tabio and see what you think.

Aha, dark grey sound lush. Karl Wrenbury who are you?
