And other style tips please

Went to CP in Decemebers. Me, DH and DD did NOT have fleeces.

I think you have to ride a bike everywhere and stare into space in an eerily happy way every so often.

bran · 27/01/2009 21:46

I think you have to smile at your DC and they have to gaze admiringly at you. Our family would be turfed out before the end of the first day for incessant squabbling and whinging.

KarlWrenbury · 27/01/2009 21:49

Oh really?
SO do people wear normal clothes?

OP posts:
AlistairSim · 27/01/2009 22:01

Well...normal for them, if you know what I mean.

I wore my fleece with pride. Everything gets covered in mud spatters so there isn't much point in wearing anything decent. That was my excuse anyway.

YeToxicHighRoad · 28/01/2009 15:39

We went to a CP in Holland, and it was such a relief to see people (especially women) wearing 'normal' clothes - I can't stand that 'sportswear as actual clothes' look that parades around the UK.

Apparently there is a blue hoody club this year. We are going next week and all but 2 of our party have blue hoodies

Wear what you feel comfy in. But there can be a lot of walking if you are not near the center, so I'd suggest comfy shoes. And it's not too dressy ona night. Smart/casual.

Most people tend to wear jogging suits etc through the day and jeans and tops on a night.

wingandprayer · 28/01/2009 15:41

I think you can always tell newbie CP-ers because the women are wearing heels.

Trainers/wellies/walking boots all the norm. It is, after all, a forest.

PrimulaVeris · 28/01/2009 15:46

Thankfully, it is a place where fleece-wearing style slatterns like myself can blend in

liath · 28/01/2009 15:46

Last time we went it was a veritable sea of Boden and all the buggies were either quinney zapps or phil & teds .

Just take plenty of waterproofs & you'll be fine.

kettlechip · 28/01/2009 15:51

I love going to CP. It's comfort clothes all the way. Take flat shoes, a waterproof jacket and something to wear that's easy to get back on after swimming while also holding swimming stuff/dc's/pushchairs.

Uggs or similar are great for this, no need for socks, can get them out of the locker and back on with one hand!
