I've been invited out for dinner - and need something to wear...........probably a dress

there are certain requirements though.

Firstly I need it to be on the littlewoods direct website this is because I'll have the money to pay for it after I've moved but need it sooner (and it's interest free for 3 months so won't cost me any more buying it this way).

Secondly - I have black shoes - and can't really afford to buy new shoes and a new outfit. (picture of the shoes on my profile)

Don't know where we're going yet - hasn't been decided so need something that's fairly flexible, ie can swanky restaraunt or pub meal

Thirdly - would rather spend no more than £50-70 (although if you find me something really really nice I could stretch my budget a little)

So oh wise MNers - can you help me find something.

Oh - and vital "details" - i'm short (5ft), size 8/10, Norks 30D, bit of a "roll" around the stomach and the top of my arms aren't that great either.

this is nice.

purpleflower · 15/01/2009 13:24

this too

FAQtothefuture · 15/01/2009 13:25

I quite like the first onoe.

Not sure about the 2nd, I have 2 similar style to that already, but worred they're a little too "summery" for this time of year.

Mind you having said that, at that price it's tempting to get it just to add to my other 2 LOL.

MadreInglese · 15/01/2009 13:30

bit short but might be nice over leggings or jeans

FAQtothefuture · 15/01/2009 13:31

ooo that plunges rather low - not sure I have the courage for that - 'tis nice though

How about something funky like this which you could wear by itself or over leggings/skinny jeans?

Or this?

MadreInglese · 15/01/2009 13:32

not too 'dressy'

BlueCowBackToWondering · 15/01/2009 13:41

FAQtothefuture · 15/01/2009 13:43

BlueCow - I don't have a Monsoon near me, and I need the dress before I move, but won't have "actual" money to pay for it until afterwards, my Littlewoods account give me 3 months interest free on all purchases so it won't cost me anything to get it now and pay in a couple of weeks

I suppose I could go to Milton Keynes on Saturday, but it's my last child free weekend before I move and I have to pack boxes (boring I know but it has to be done LOL)

Tillyscoutsmum · 15/01/2009 13:46

MK on a Saturday - Don't do it! you need your sanity more than a dress! Back to Littlewoods!

MadreInglese · 15/01/2009 13:50

It is worth making your way to the shops at about 8.30am to be there (hopefully) before the rabble?

TheRealMrsJohnSimm · 15/01/2009 13:53

LOL at comments about MK on saturdays! ITA - nightmare situation!!

FAQ, if you are near MK, have you tried TK Maxx? They have some really nice items in at the moment.

FAQtothefuture · 15/01/2009 15:37

no not that near, it's 1 1/2hrs on the bus - but my best "local" shopping place.

I've been on a Sautrday - in the run up to Christmas too - so not phased by that.

However I think I may lose my sanity if I'm still frantically packing the week I'm moving so think I'll stick to Littlewoods LOL.

Nosey bump.

Which one did you get in the end? And was the meal good?
