as she is fed up.

She has been having a friend cut her hair for years and they have run out of ideas.

My brother is getting married this year and she needs a new cut before the wedding.

aw bless her !

how about just highlights?

UnfortunatelyMe · 13/01/2009 19:52

I know nothing, but i would let it grow a bit then have flicky bits round the neck and it feathered at the front...but I dont go to the hairdressers, so feel free to ignore

Desiderata · 13/01/2009 19:53

The style seems fine to me As southy says, she needs highlights, and a good cut that allows a little height at the crown.

Something needs to be done with the fringe, I think. Does she need to cover her brow because of wrinkles (like me), or could she stand a bit more exposure in that area?

MmeLindt · 13/01/2009 19:58

She does not want to give up her fringe, although she is not really wrinkly. She looks great for her age and is quite up to date with her dress sense.

More layers? Would you all go a bit shorter then? She did want to grow it longer but it does not sit very nicely when all the one length.

I was thinking this sort of thing, but less glam for everyday wear

Desiderata · 13/01/2009 20:03

Yes, that looks great, Lindt!

I also think she could do with going a bit darker .. make her look less faded and more vibrant.

MmeLindt · 13/01/2009 20:05

She says that looks nice but it is what she had before.

whispers but that style suited her

She goes swimming a lot and to the line dancing so she needs a style that is easy to care for.

Yes, I said that today as well, she has got lighter over the years.

Try to convince her, Mme. It will take years off her.

My friend, (admittedly only 43), has just dyed her hair much darker, and she looks fab.

Is blonde your mum's natural colour?

MmeLindt · 14/01/2009 06:47

Hmm, her natural hair colour hasn't been seen for many years (a bit like my own) but as far as I can remember she was much darker. She had been dying her hair as long as I can remember as she started going grey very early. I think that may be why she has problems getting her hair to sit, a hairdresser once told me that grey hair is much more difficult to style.

your mums hair looks quite fine.. and with the layers on top long it looks a bit flat...
how about this

similar but flatter

RumMum · 14/01/2009 13:24

meant to say its looks fine... but there is a lot off it..

does she colour it... I think a soft copper would look nice...
