Colourful clothes for boys?? Where??

Momoftwo · 13/01/2009 13:25

I am trying to find colourful clothes for my boys (6 and nearly 3). My eldest looked in his drawer and said 'Everything I have is blue!', which is virtually true. I have found a few bits (great red trousers!) but I am looking for some orange trousers, in particular, but any line of colourful clothes for boys up to and including age 7.

Any ideas?

John Lewis sometimes have nice coloured stuff as someone else said, we got some very bright turquoise dungarees (set with a t-shirt) in their sale. Also Boots have phases of very bright-coloured stuff, and again they often have good sales or multi-buy offers. And DS used to have some orange-and-white striped trousers with a matching dinosaur t-shirt which were from Debenhams, they probably don't have the same ones any more but may have some other bright stuff still.

BlueChampagne · 15/01/2009 13:21

I've had fun tie-dying vests and t-shirts

tattycoram · 15/01/2009 13:48

I looked in John Lewis yesterday and they had nothing very nice for bigger boys, but lovely lovely stuff for under twos.

seesaw do great clothes but are of the blues and browns. but they are different so the clothes kind of stand out

mistlethrush · 15/01/2009 13:54

Pumpkin Patch often quite good (I go to their sale!)

I got ds some lovely orange shorts in Sainsbury's last summer - and have managed to stock up on sizes in the sale for at least the next 2 years....

Hanna Andersson does great boys' clothes - good quality, too. It takes a couple of weeks to get to me when I order and I get hit with a customs charge about half the time though.

ilovelovemydog · 15/01/2009 16:36

I get stuff from Hanna Anderson, and have never had to pay a customs charge....

Okaidi?

I have twin boys so I like to dress them differently and not always in blue. I love Catamini (expensive but gorgeous colours - I buy stuff a year too big for them in the sales) and John Rocha/Ted Baker at Debenhams. Mini Boden also do really cute tshirts in loads of colours.

Buckets · 15/01/2009 19:36

Colourful baby vests here. I know that's no use to the OP but I reckon this threads got lots of lurkers.

blackrock · 15/01/2009 20:57

Not cheap, but bright colours. I have a couple of items and they wear well.

Oh my goodness I so shouldn't have come on this thread... I was going through all DS stuff he's been given (he's only 10 weeks) and it is blue, brown, blue, brown. And some more brown. Lock up my bank card...

This site has some lovely colourful stuff although it's not cheap. I have my eye on these

Astrophe · 16/01/2009 11:06

polarn o pyret, and they have GREAT sales if you get to one - 50% of almost everything. Also second Rainbow Babies, and kidsshouldbekids.co.uk is good too.

slalomsuki · 16/01/2009 11:11

I think its easier when they are younger. Mine are 6 and 7 and everything really does turn to blue and kakki at that stage.

I bought a few colourful tops out of Asda and M & S locally but they are both big stres. and I agree with the Debenhams comments about buying in the sale. TK Maxx have the odd ones too if you are prepared to hunt through the rails

Have not read the entire thread but I think No Added Sugar do great boys clothes and have a good selection of 'brights'.

Have just ordered some stuff of their website as they are having a sale (some stuff up to 70% off)

breadandroses · 16/01/2009 11:31

Do you have a TK Maxx?

Ours has some lovely Katvig stuff, and other Skandi type stuff. Prices about £6 per t shirt rather than £20.

Only prob is ds is consequently too colourfull and stripey...

breadandroses · 16/01/2009 11:31

Sorry Piffle got there before me. Must read thread...

llareggub · 16/01/2009 11:45

No Added Sugar are on my list of companies never to buy anything from after last year's appalling images on their website. Horrid company.

NormaJeanBaker · 16/01/2009 13:40

I buy girls' stuff for my son (3) sometimes and boys' stuff for my girls (5 and 10 months) - not to make a point just find things suit them better that way sometimes. Their Dad wears pink so they are happy to mix and match - and DD1 and DS like borrowing each other's clothes.

yellowflowers · 16/01/2009 16:51

I don't know about older children but American Apparel do fab babygros etc in primary colours

Chivers · 16/01/2009 17:11

Definitely Debenhams - they do Conran, Duffer of St George and Ted Baker all in good colours and not bad prices. Bought 3 jumpers for my 2 yr old in an array of colours - washed v well and much admired.
