Fashionable clothes for a tiny 11 year old?

Hi - my dd is 11, wants to wear the styles that her friends do, but because she is very small for her age (clothes size 8/9 and slim) it's hard to find things that fit but don't look 'babyish'. However too grown-up looks silly as well as she looks so young. She also has child size 13 feet! So finding nice shoes is hard.

Any recommendations for shops that have trendy clothes and do small sizes would be great! Many of her peers are tall enough to shop in Top Shop etc.

My dd likes her Boden sweater dresses over leggings and ballet pumps

Also had some success with the kids range in New Look (providing you ignore all the HSM and Hannah Montana stuff - unless she is into them)

I've never bought her anything from Top Shop yet

She's very fond of the leggings/denim skirt/cool t-shirt and fleece look

H&M's teen range?

Tesco also have a 9-15 range in their bigger stores. IMO it's fab, and very on trend, but I can understand that a label conscious pre-teen may pooh-pooh this.

I'll have to have a look next time we're near a bigger Tesco - not sure it's so much labels she is bothered about - just not looking as if she has been dressed by her mum in little girl clothes

My dd, also 11 is only 126cm tall and in size 6-7 or 7-8 clothes. She normally gets clothes from the big stores like Peacocks, Matalan, Next and sometimes Sainsburys the stores that have a good age range in clothes are the best. HTH

Next -adjustable waist, skinny jeans etc..

H&M are quite good imo (cut on the slim side plu adjustable waistbands)

I know what you mean though; my dd is nearly 8 and for the first time in her life is wearing mostly age related clothes (was wearing age 5-6 trousers until a couple of months ago) And yet is still one of the smallest children in her class.

What about Gap?

My DD used to be in that situation & it is very hard. We found Urban Angel to be quite good - it's the older girls range at Pumpkin Patch. It goes from 8-16 & it used to be nicely fashionable without being too adult, IYKWIM. Otherwise H&M was only other option (oh, and Abercrombie & Fitch - but that was only when bought in the US with a much more favourable Ex rate than now!!).

You may also find Top Shop fits her much sooner than you would expect (though that is a very mixed blessing!) - my DD is a comfortable size 8 in Top Shop - in most other shops a 6 swamps her! Good luck!
