Where do you buy your dd's clothes from (age 3)

MiaWallace · 12/01/2009 14:45

I normally get all dd's clothes from Next but the I don't really like what they have out at the moment.

She desperatly needs some new stuff as she's just gone through a growth spurt.

I'm a student so haven't got a fortune to spend (looking for similar prices to Next) and I don't want to get her clothes from Asda/Tesco/Primark because of the quality.

Any recommendations?

Have you tried Zara? Not sure how the prices compare.

Brangelina · 12/01/2009 14:49

Zara. I find Next a bit boring and quite expensive. Zara is much funkier and cheapish, particularly now in the sales. Also H&M but far too much pink lately for my taste, plus the clothes aren't that nice any more.

Other than that I buy a lot of 2nd hand designer stuff on ebay.

MiaWallace · 12/01/2009 14:52

I haven't tried Zara. Do they have a website?
(I hate shopping)

Unfortunately not, Mia. Agree with H&M too.

MiaWallace · 12/01/2009 15:41

Anyone have any recommendations for online?

Will try Zara and H&M when I go into town, but would rather buy online.

What about M&S? I like some of the stuff in there for my dd.

Lots of lovely things here. H&M and Zara are fab and M&S often have nice things too.

OHBollox · 12/01/2009 15:43

I agree I'd rather have 2nd hand french designer clothes, people who buy that new tend to do so with the intention of selling it on so it's immaculate.

Neeerly3 · 12/01/2009 15:43

la redoute? vertbaudet?

OHBollox · 12/01/2009 15:44

From ebay I meant, (hit return too quickly).
I have had some beautiful clothes that look brand new, plus you too can sell it on.

boogeek · 12/01/2009 15:46

I actually love Mothercare for this age group - prices comparable to Next but quality much better IMO and not so overwhelmingly pink. Next has lost the way a bit lately, I think - seems to want to dress tots like mini-adults

VinoEsmeralda · 12/01/2009 15:47

Boots - have nice girls stufff up to the age of 5

francagoestohollywood · 12/01/2009 15:52

Du Pareil Au meme.here

suiz · 12/01/2009 15:55

H&M's not bad for basics and the prices are good. I've bought loads of stuff and no pink or logos if I don't want.

petalpower · 12/01/2009 17:09

Friends were just saying at the weekend that they get lots of lovely things for their nearly three year old from Mini Mode (Boots?).

squeaver · 12/01/2009 17:24

Yes I think you an get Mini Mode at the big Boots stores. Don't know about online.

Drum · 12/01/2009 18:12

Here's Minimode:

M&S always have some gorgeous stuff for little girls and their prices are comparable to Next I would say:

Debenhams online is always worth a look too as they have a few different ranges to choose from.

MiaWallace · 12/01/2009 18:33

Thanks everyone. Just having a look now

Ooh yes. M and S has some lovely younger girls clothes in at the moment. The older girls stuff is pretty awful though. Tigerlily at Debenhams (think it's called that) is gorgeous too for little girls.

MiaWallace · 12/01/2009 20:01

Thanks Drum and petalpower. Just bought a load of lovely things from Debenhams.

Thought it would be out of my price range but I was suprised. Not much more expensive than Next but far nicer.

Another h&m fan here (dd loves hello kitty and the girly stuff) and also debenhams.
BTW, if you go on the mn for sale threads, there are lots of mums (me included.!)selling clothing on..may be stuff there of interest..

BTW, debenhams also sell Ted Baker (selected stores maybe..) Got dd a lovely sparkly christmas dress for there not to girly and very cute. Tend to like the tops as well. Lovely colours deep purples/deep pinks atm.

gigglewitch · 12/01/2009 22:05

mostly handed on by good friend

The stuff i buy tends to come from JojoMaman (with mn discount) or George at ASDA!! Must say though, I'd beg to differ on your opinion of asda clothing, because if you choose well the quality of asda stuff esp the fleeces and woolens is very good. Oh, my other fave is M&co childrens stuff here
