I don't get them at all. I saw a girl in something similar, she ran across the street and it looked odd this billowing bit of fabric as she moved and She was very slim and was wearing a cropped jacket with it.

we used to wear em in the early 90s i think we called em harem trousers too they were very bobby brown in style and we wore them with cropped tops

They're very fashionable and will be a big thing next season but.... Stop.. Hammer time!

littlerach · 11/01/2009 19:03

When we were in France in the summer, loads of tres chic frenchwomen wore them.

I was at first, but they looked nice.

Not for me though.

No

MaryMotherOfCheeses · 11/01/2009 19:06

From Whistles??? I always thought that was a tasteful shop.

I can imagine them having a brief moment of popularity again. Sadly.

Marthasmama · 11/01/2009 19:09

They're back according to Vogue's guide to SS09!

suwoo · 11/01/2009 19:11

I saw them all over France this summer too. I lke them actually and did look at them, but all the French ones were miniscule

Hassled · 11/01/2009 19:13

They're as bad now as they were when MC Hammer wore them in the 80s.

toddlerama · 11/01/2009 21:32

Loads of fashion student friends wear them - they are vile, but I think that for about 6 months about everything they wear, then I want one...
I think if you aren't really slim they're just going to look like extremely dodgy maternity pants.
They crop up on Hilary from the Fresh Prince now and then which is usually a strong indicator that you shouldn't wear them.
